Seth Connell reports that the scandal and cabal surrounding the Uranium One deal of 2010 is only growing, and it does not seem that anyone can stop its growth at this point; not even the Democrats’ biggest allies in the media.
As time progresses, ever since The Hill‘s first bombshell report, new information trickles out revealing just how truly shady the deal was. This is the kind of stuff you’d expect to see on House of Cards, not in our own government (but yet again, is HOC really all that far off from reality?).
First it was the fact that the Russian government approved the bribery scheme to increase their market in atomic energy here in the United States.
Back in 2009, the Russian government approved a bribery scheme to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy industry within the United States. According to the bombshell report published by The Hill, documents from the FBI, Energy Department, and federal courts reveal that substantial evidence existed about the corruption and infiltration of Russian bribery prior to the approval of the Uranium One deal in 2010, yet the evidence did not stop the deal from being approved.
Next, it was revealed that a key witness was blocked by the Obama Department of Justice from testifying about the corruption leading up to the deal.
A businessman who spent years working undercover as an FBI informant was blocked by Obama’s Justice Department from testifying before Congress about details of Russian involvement and influence over Hillary Clinton.
The businessman’s attorney, Victoria Toensing, said that she is working with lawmakers to get the Trump Justice Department or the FBI to allow her client to testify.
Toensing is also a former Reagan Justice Department official and former chief counsel for the Senate Intelligence Committee.
“All of the information about this corruption has not come out,” she said in an interview Tuesday with The Hill.
Now, Senator Chuck Grassley of the Senate Judiciary Commitee has called upon that informant to testify to the committee about what he found out, lifting the gag order that has held him down for years, according to Circa.
Toensing’s client was an American businessman who says he worked for four years undercover as an FBI confidential witness. Toensing said he was blocked by the Obama Justice Department, under then Attorney General Loretta Lynch, about testifying to Congress about his time as an informant for the FBI. He contends that he has pertinent information that the Russian’s were attempting to gain access to former President Bill Clinton and his wife, then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, to influence the Obama administration’s decision on the purchase of Uranium One, Toensing said.
If that’s the case, there are serious implications for the Clintons. If we want to talk about the issue of Russian collusion, we need not look any further than Bill and Hillary Clinton, and their slush fund at the Clinton Foundation.
Indeed, President Trump himself made as much clear in a recent press conference.
On Thursday, he was asked about the allegations at a press conference with the governor of Puerto Rico. According to Power Ling Blog, he responded:
THE PRESIDENT: Uranium is a big subject. If the mainstream media would cover the uranium scandal and that Russia has 20 percent of uranium for whatever reason — and a lot of people understand what those reasons may be — I think that’s your Russia story. That’s your real Russia story. Not a story where they talk about collusion, and there was none. It was a hoax.
Your real Russia story is uranium and how they got all of that uranium — a vast percentage of what we have. That is, to me, one of the big stories of the decade — not just now — of the decade.
The problem is that the mainstream media does not want to cover that story because that affects people that they protect. So they don’t like covering that story. But the big story is uranium and how Russia got 20 percent of our uranium. And, frankly, it’s a disgrace. It’s a disgrace. And it’s a disgrace that the fake news won’t cover it. It’s so sad.
What does all of this mean? The scandal is not going away. In just a few days, it has the attention of Congress, the President, the DOJ, many (though likely not all) news outlets, and more of the American people as the scandal is continuously exposed.
Something of this magnitude simply cannot be ignored by anyone with a shred of integrity. It doesn’t matter if Hillary Clinton is literally your best friend; if she actively participated in a scheme that involved kickbacks from signing off on the Uranium One deal, that’s morally reprehensible and criminal.
For that, along with the host of other crimes regarding the cover up of Benghazi, scamming donors out of money for Haiti earthquake relief, etc., the Clinton Crime Family has gotten away with their chicanery for far too long.
