Despite the major setback, all hope is not lost. As Regan Pifer reports, Senator Rand Paul received good news on the golf course the other day.
And no, it had nothing to do with his handicap.
President Donald Trump golfed with the Senator over the weekend and called a Mulligan on the Republican attempt to repeal Obamacare.
But he’s not giving up. He’s playing another round and is confident Republicans will create a healthcare plan that inspires consensus.
According to the Washington Examiner:
Republican Sen. Rand Paul was optimistic about repealing Obamacare after he spent the day playing golf with President Trump.
“We had a great day with the president. Played some golf, and we talked and we talked about a little bit of healthcare. I continue to be very optimistic that we are getting closer and closer to an agreement on repealing Obamacare,” Paul said…
…Trump hinted earlier Sunday on Twitter that there’s potential for Republicans to unify around healthcare. His tweet followed a week of attacks on the conservative House Freedom Caucus after the failure of the American Health Care Act.
President Trump is so focused on the success of this bill that he is willing to “work with Democrats on healthcare if he can’t make a deal with the conservative group.”
Mr. President, you better yell fore! before that happens.
I’m not sure the groups like Freedom Caucus saw that coming.
