Only hours after a series of terror attacks shook the Belgian capital of Brussels killing dozens, President Obama gave but a scant 52 seconds time to address the carnage wrought by the radical Islamic terrorists there. Before he went on to praise communist Cuba, Obama pleaded for the world to “be together” to oppose terror.
In a speech given in Havana, Obama asked his communist audience to “indulge” him so he might comment on the attacks that had occurred in Brussels only a short time before he took the stage.
“The thoughts and prayers of the American people are with the people of Belgium,” Obama perfunctorily said. “And we stand in solidarity with them in condemning these outrageous attacks against innocent people.”
“We will do whatever is necessary to support our friend and ally, Belgium, in bringing to justice those who are responsible, and this is yet another reminder that the world must unite,” Obama continued.
“We must be together, regardless of nationality, or race, or faith, in fighting against the scourge of terrorism,” he concluded. “We can and we will defeat those who threaten the safety and security of people all around the world.”
From there the President went on to praise Cuba, call the communist dictators who rule the Island nation “friends” of the U.S., and essentially blamed the U.S. for trying to “control” Cuba with military forces and even “slavery.”
What Obama didn’t say at the podium in Havana, though, was just as important as what he did say, for the words “Islamic terror” didn’t pass his lips.
During his Tuesday radio broadcast, Rush Limbaugh blasted Obama for his refusal to identify radical Islam as the cause of the dangers we face in this age of terrorism.
The only people I know of that don’t want to fight terrorism, Mr. President, is you! What do you mean, come together to fight terrorism? Show a little leadership on it. You won’t even call it what it is. You will not even use the words, “Radical Islam.” You will not say “radical Islamic terrorism.” You will not say “militant Islamic terror.” You won’t even use the words. Who’s not united in opposing this? Who are these laggards that will not join the effort to oppose ISIS? Who’s he talking about?
Indeed, while bombs were killing dozens in Brussels Obama was standing in front of giant paintings of communist terrorist Che Guevara, proudly rubbing elbows with Cuba’s communist dictator, and taking in baseball games.
The photo above of Obama proudly pledging in front of the giant Che mural is most striking. While Brussels was being hit with a wave of terror attacks, here is President Obama — the erstwhile “leader of the free world” — standing proudly in front of a gigantic image of a mass murderer and terrorist who gleefully murdered men, women and children by the hundreds.
Obama wasn’t alone in his inability to identify our enemies. Hillary Clinton had a similar problem saying the words “Islamic terrorism” in her own statement on the attacks in Brussels. In fact, she used the terrorism in Belgium as a platform to attack GOP front runner Donald Trump for suggesting that we stop Muslim immigration until we develop tools to weed out the importation of terrorists.
Not everyone was as reticent to identify our enemies, though. Texas Senator Ted Cruz was under no such self-imposed restrictions for mentioning Islamic terror. He was immediate in his response.
“Today’s attacks in Brussels underscores this is a war,” Cruz said in a press conference carried by Fox News. “This is not a lone war. ISIS has declared jihad.”
“It is way past time we have a president who will acknowledge this evil and will call it by it’s name and use the full force and fury to defeat ISIS,” Cruz added. “Until they are defeated, these attacks will continue. Their target is each and every one of us.”
“We need a president who sets aside political correctness,” Cruz said. “We don’t need another lecture about Islamophobia.”
The Texan reiterated the point in his Facebook Page statement on the attacks laying the blame squarely on Islamic radicals in his first sentence.
Meanwhile, members of the media were distraught that those darn ISIS terrorists are “overshadowing” Obama’s tribute to Cuban communism. For one, extremely liberal Huffington Post Senior Politics Editor Sam Stein was beside himself on Tuesday.
Obama just can’t move his focus away from the Middle East/terrorism. His Cuba trip now overshadowed by today’s events.

It’s almost as if ISIS really isn’t the “JV Team,” isn’t it?
In the end, though, Rush Limbaugh is right. Bowing to PCism isn’t going to do a thing to stop Islamic terrorists. Being nice to radical Muslims won’t result in “coming together.”
