And they’re just going to keep going with it. Robert Gehl reports that since they the mainstream media as their echo chamber, leftist activists are increasing the pressure on Democratic lawmakers to impeach President Donald Trump.
The pressure comes as the White House is reeling from a non-stop barrage of leaks to the media dealing with Russia, Trump’s relationship with former FBI Director James Comey and others.
Trump fired Comey ten days ago for doing a “bad job.” The media has swirled rumors that the firing was to stop Comey from investigating any relationship Trump or the Trump campaign had with the Kremlin.
One group is planning “Impeachment Marches” on July 2 at various cities around the country, The Daily Caller reports. It is the same group who were behind the Tax Day protests against Trump’s decision to withhold his tax returns. Set to take place in 14 cities, there’s speculation the number of cities will grow as frustration builds amongst liberals surrounding the White House.
There have already been more than 11,000 confirmed attendees to the Los Angeles March.
“Donald Trump has been in violation of the Constitution from the day he was sworn into the office of President. The Constitution gives the House of Representatives the sole power to impeach an official, and it makes the Senate the sole court for impeachment trials,” a description for the Impeachment March reads. “It is time that congressional representatives do their job and start the process to impeach this president. We believe president Trump has committed constitutional breaches, consistently lied, cheated, and enforces laws that primarily benefit him and his billionaire friends at the expense of the country.”
The leftist group “Democracy For America” are also pressuring lawmakers in Congress to impeach Trump, barely four months into his term.
“This latest move by the Trump administration is too little, too late. With each passing day, we are learning of new ways in which Donald Trump is placing our country and our institutions in greater danger. Mueller was appointed by the same man who gave Trump cover for firing Comey, and his chain of command leads back to Donald Trump himself,” said Charles Chamberlain, executive director of left-wing advocacy group Democracy for America.
Rep. Maxine Waters and others have been calling for impeachment for some time. Less than two weeks ago, Rep. Mark Pocan, a Democrat from Wisconsin, actually suggested such nonsense. “We should maybe have an impeachment clock,” he said. “And if we did, I think yesterday moved us about an hour closer to having that need.”
