Crazed Florida Man Shoots Out Tires Of Work Trucks In Front Of His House

Folks, please please please please please do NOT be this guy, or anything remotely close to this guy. Do not do it. You will give all gun owners a bad name at a time when we need all the credibility we can get.

A crazed Florida man named Jorge Jove was apparently rather unhappy that some AT&T trucks were doing some work outside of his house. He wanted them gone. Obviously, they were not to leave before the work was done, but this guy just could not stand that idea.

So what does he do? He grabs a revolver and shoots the tires and engines of the trucks!

Do I need to even extrapolate how insane this man has to be
? Watch the video of the incident for yourself (and remember that in one of the trucks, a worker is in the bucket working on a pole), via the Miami Herald.

Derrick Taylor, the man who recorded the incident and called the police, managed to give a play-by-play of the crazed man’s shooting spree.

“There’s a guy shooting out the tires. He’s shooting out the engines and everything,” says Taylor in the three-minute video. “Shooting with an actual gun — a revolver.”

Police told local CBS affiliate that the AT&T workers were conducting work on overhead power lines.

“The owner of the house came out, he was upset the trucks were parked in front of his house, asked them to move. They said, ‘We’ll move in a few minutes, we’re just working on the poles. We’re supposed to be here,’” said Zogby, who said Jove then returned with a handgun and fired at least a dozen shots, flattening the tires and shooting one of the vehicle’s radiator.

Hialeah, Florida police say that Jove was a 34-year veteran of the Miami-Dade Rescue Squad. Jove is charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and 2 counts of felony vandalism.

This is simply one of the most ridiculous I’ve ever reported. This man should be sent to prison for a long time (and he will, you better believe it). Those who abuse their right to bear arms by threatening the safety of others should not be let off the hook for their violation of others’ rights.

Yes, we have the right to bear arms in this nation, and we should defend that right; but in order to effectively defend that right, we must vigorously oppose and punish those who blatantly abuse it.

There are many gun laws which I think are unconstitutional, and really should not exist in the first place; but if you use a firearm in such a way as this, you should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law no matter where you are.

This incident reflects poorly on every single gun owner in this country; every single one of us lost some points in the public eye because this guy completely lost his mind. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable, and all gun owners must be swift to denounce such abuse.
