Prof Wears Combat Gear to Class Over Campus Carry; 3 Months Later Something Odd Happened…

In August of this year, Texas’ campus carry law went into effect. It allows students, faculty, and staff the ability to carry a concealed handgun on college campuses, with limited exceptions.

In response, the Left completely freaked. They predicted all sorts of things about what would happen with people carrying concealed handguns on campus.

They predicted blood in the classrooms, in the dorms, at sporting events; all sorts of crazy outlandish claims about the violence and mass murder that those horrendous concealed handgun permit holders carry out on a daily basis.

One professor was so hysterical that he even went to his classes dressed in full combat gear to “protect” himself from the armed students, according to My San Antonio.

On Tuesday, the same day campus carry was officially implemented at Texas community colleges, a geography instructor at San Antonio College came to class dressed to express exactly what he thought about the new law.

“I was just saying I don’t feel safe,” Charles K. Smith told mySA.com.

Smith came to class on Tuesday dressed head to waist in protective combat gear – a bulletproof vest and helmet.
Campus Carry was signed into law in 2015 and officially implemented into Texas community colleges on August 1. The state law allows individuals with a license to carry to carry a concealed handgun on college premises.

“It definitely makes me feel uneasy that there are more firearms on campus than there really should be,” Smith said. “(Dressing this way) was just a statement on how I felt.”

Geez, talk about a drama queen who loves his projection.

That was back in August, and here we are over three months later. You know what’s happened at colleges in Texas since campus carry was fully enacted? No one predicted this at all…

Not one legal handgun permit holder has shot anyone on a college campus. Not one. How about that!

Contrary to the ramblings of this professor and the left-wing hysterics who dutifully follow him and his colleagues’ statist fear-mongering, the law-abiding have been (shock!) law-abiding.

Those who responsibly and lawfully carry a handgun outside of a college campus have carried their handguns in the same manner when they crossed over an arbitrary line onto a college campus. Gee, who could have seen that coming?

Well, anyone with a shred of intellectual honesty will be willing to take the statistical evidence about concealed handgun permit holders, and realize that they are the safest and most stable people in our society.

However, the Left will often project their ideas of what will happen because of their fear of guns, any anyone who has a gun (that is, unless it’s the government; then apparently the people with guns can do nothing wrong, and never have done anything wrong…).

“I realize students were carrying guns on campus illegally, but now it’s legal to do so. It increases the chances of something happening,” Smith said. “Used to, when they got mad at me, they had to go home to get the gun and had time to cool off, now they will have it with them.”

That right there is trademark projection; he thinks that anyone carrying a firearm, even legally, will suddenly snap and will pull a gun on him or another student if they get mad about a bad grade or get into an argument. Except that these are the last people who would do that.

Looks like we’ll just have to keep citing stats upon stats to prove that we’re right on this, folks. But don’t give up if they don’t believe you. Just fight it harder.
