Ravens Were About To Sign Kaepernick Until His Girlfriend Posted This Ridiculous Tweet

Colin Kaepernck almost had an NFL contract with the Baltimore Ravens, but because of his girlfriend’s ridiculous social media posting directed at former Ravens star Ray Lewis, he lost the chance to pursue it.

The Ravens’ owner Steve Bisciotti reportedly stated that he wanted to hear Kaepernick himself say that he wanted to play football. But because of a ridiculous social media posting, that meeting never happened, ESPN is reporting.

Ray Lewis told Showtime’s “Inside the NFL” on Tuesday night that “We were going to close the deal to sign him. Steve Bisciotti said, ‘I want to hear Colin Kaepernick speak to let me know that he wants to play football.’

“And it never happens because that picture comes up the next day.”

What was it she posted? ESPN didn’t show it in their report, but The Daily Wire was more than happy to show what she sent Ray Lewis.

Take a look:

According to Lewis, the Ravens were going to sign the controversial quarterback until his girlfriend, radio host Ness Diab, decided to tweet a racist meme of Lewis on August 3; Diab compared the football legend to Samuel L. Jackson’s character in Django Unchained hugging owner Steve Bisciotti, compared to Leonardo Dicaprio’s character in the film.

Ravens Head Coach John Harbaugh didn’t directly address Lewis’ assertion, but he stated that the club’s focus right now is on Cincinnati, and the team has 2 quarterbacks ready to go.

I’m sure that many of Kap’s crowd will be quick to attack Lewis for his response, but keep in mind that Lewis has been providing hm moral support on the issue.

“I wish you the best in life; I hope you chase whatever God got for you to chase. And once again, I applaud what you stood up for,” said Lewis.

“And if people really wanna help you, if they really wanna help you, man, they’ll pray for you, brother,” he said. “They will lead you the right way and stop encouraging you to be caught up in some of this nonsense.”

Kaepernick’s girlfriend sent the racist tweet to Lewis just one day after he posted that video.

Imagine that! Kaepernick almost had a contract in his grasp, but a racist posting from his significant other snatched it from him. One can’t fault the Ravens, or the rest of the NFL for that.

His original kneeling caught national attention, and many conservatives blasted him for disrespecting the country’s flag and national anthem. I think that much of the hype was way overplayed, but the fact that he lost this possible deal is because his significant other did not have basic decency dealing with a controversial issue.
