The anti-police, anti-truth, racist Black Lives Matter movement has gotten what it wanted in leftist-controlled Chicago, and the result has been skyrocketing violence.
Heather MacDonald, a law enforcement advocate, wrote a piece in the New York Post that spelled out the numbers in Chicago, establishing a cause-and-effect relationship of BLM and the left’s policies.
First, MacDonald described the cause:
Arrests are down 28 percent this year in the Windy City, the lowest since at least 2001, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, and less than half what they were in 2010. Drug arrests are down by half. Pedestrian stops were down 82 percent by early fall.
Now for the effect, she wrote:
So far this year, 4,334 people have been shot in Chicago: one person every two hours. Almost all the victims have been black. The police have shot 25 people, virtually all armed or otherwise dangerous — less than .6 percent of the total.
The Blaze reported:
This is a drastic increase from last year, when 2,989 people were shot, and there were 492 homicides. Shootings have increased 45 percent over last year, and homicides have increased 56.5 percent, according to the Chicago Tribune. Less than 1 percent of the shootings have been by the police, and yet Black Lives Matter focuses on this minuscule number instead of the real threat to the black community represented by the rest of the 99.4 percent of shootings.
MacDonald noted that in the face of this disaster created by leftist policies, there could be a silver-lining if it calls attention to what a failure the agenda to push “de-policing and decriminalization” is.
The left has pushed the myth that law and order is somehow racist, yet it’s the left’s policies that result in massive violence in black communities.
If the anti-police agenda by the left and BLM was correct, this move to de-police should have really turned things around in Chicago. But as the facts show, and common sense would tell anyone, that has not been the case.
“The anti-cop forces particularly vilify Broken Windows policing — aimed at quality-of-life offenses like disorderly conduct, street drug trafficking and loitering,” MacDonald wrote.
As she pointed out, in the wake of the riots in Baltimore following Freddie Gray’s death, the Obama administration took on the policy of “clearing the corners” in the city and as such, drug arrests went down and low-level offenses were allowed to proliferate.
When that happens, law and order breaks down, but according to the left, that should lead to some sort of utopia. You’d think the left doesn’t understand the snowball effect or the concept of nipping something in the bud before it gets worse, but the business owners and people of Baltimore did when they begged law enforcement to start “clearing the corners” again in response to rampant crime ravaging the city.
The left knows this — they know exactly what they’re doing. There are surely some misguided leftists with good intentions, but the leadership by and large knows exactly what they’re doing and why. They need to break the country down to build it back up — whether they realize that there may not be anything to build back up if they were to succeed is unclear.
All the left has done is break down law and order, which is what they really want. BLM receives funding from big left-wing money that uses the movement, and others like it, to push their radical agenda.
The left never wastes tragedy to advance their agenda and they have exploited the violence in cities like Chicago to implement their disastrous, and deadly, policies.
