Robert Gehl writes by the time the dust cleared, at least six civilians had been killed in the London terrorist attacks, along with three male suspects.
A speeding, white van careened through London Bridge, mowing down six people before three suspects jumped out and began stabbing innocent people and police officers. The suspects were shot dead by police. They were reportedly wearing fake explosive vests.
As many as 48 people have been taken to five hospitals, the BBC is reporting, with British Prime Minister Theresa May condemning the attacks as an example of the “single evil ideology of Islamist extremism.”
“Enough is enough,” she said defiantly.
She said the counter-terrorism strategy would be reviewed and the UK would work with other countries to prevent the internet being a “safe space” for terrorists.
She said there was “too much tolerance of extremism in our country” and while it would involve “some difficult and embarrassing conversations,” that must change. There have been subsequent police raids in Barking, east London by authorities.
Among the injured in the knife attack are four police officers – including one from the Transport Police, and an off-duty Metropolitan officer. Both are in the hospital in serious condition.
The police have classified the acts of violence as terrorist attacks, as the three now-dead suspects were shouting “This is for Allah!” while stabbing their victims.
The attack comes on the heels of the Manchester bombing at an Ariana Grande concert that killed 22 people. It is the third terrorist attack in the United Kingdom since March.
Jihadists cheered the attack, but ISIS has not claimed responsibility yet.
That didn’t stop the celebrations though.

Before the Manchester attack, ISIS followers were told to “hunt your prey” when targeting civilians.
