CNN’s Latest Blunder Is The WORST YET [Watch]

These days it’s getting harder and harder to tell real stories apart from Onion articles. In fact, I myself wouldn’t have believed this next one if it wasn’t on video.

But it is, and it serves as a perfect reminder of just how detached the mainstream media is from the rest of the country.

The Daily Caller reports that during a segment covering President Donald Trump’s arrival in Paris for a meeting with French president Emmanuel Macron, CNN anchor Poppy Harlow made a rather spectacular blunder.

During the arrival festivities, both presidents shook hands while a band played the Star-Spangled Banner in the background.

“Let’s just listen in to the French national anthem for just a moment,” Harlow said. That’s right — she mistook our national anthem for France’s.

Worse, the Daily Caller reports, it took “at least ten seconds before whispering could be heard in the background–presumably a producer who caught Harlow’s error–and Harlow had to correct herself.” She herself wasn’t the one who realized what she said.

“The US–American national anthem–I should say,” she corrected herself, chuckling.

Seriously, this happened. Watch for yourself here:

A simple, momentary brain fart? Yeah, probably. To be fair, it happens to all of us from time to time, usually at the most embarrassing moments possible. Surely Harlow knows the Star-Spangled Banner.

Still, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect illustration of the press and the Left’s utter unfamiliarity with the heart of the country and the values which the anthem honors. We couldn’t have conjured up anything better if we tried.
