The Democrats have been pushing conspiracy theories of a collaboration between President Trump and Russia in efforts to generate more far-left voters. But a new poll suggests that their efforts have backfired, as most voters are tired of the Trump-Russia investigations and would rather talk about more important issues.
A majority of voters believe the Russia investigations are damaging to the country and are eager to see Congress shift its focus to healthcare, terrorism, national security, the economy and jobs.
From The Daily Wire:
The poll, conducted by Harvard-Harris, found that 64% of voters view such investigations as dragging down the country; 56% think that there are more important matters to be focused on, and another 73% fear that the Trump-Russia investigations are distracting Congress from issues that are actually relevant to the American people.
In fact, 62% felt that there wasn’t enough evidence to substantiate claims of collusion.
Additionally, 58% of voters don’t think Trump committed obstruction of justice for requesting that fired FBI director James Comey go easy on former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, although 37% of those voters did feel that Trump’s request was “inappropriate.” Another 60% felt that Comey should have publicly stated that Trump is not being investigated.
But it was these results of the poll that are the most devastating to the Democrats:
-62% think that Trump won’t be impeached.
-45% – a plurality – don’t think that Trump should be impeached.
-62% think that there is “a campaign to delegitimize the president.”
That said, the poll isn’t entirely positive for Trump, based on these findings:
-56% don’t think that Trump should have fired Comey.
-41% think Trump should be impeached and 14% think Congress should censure him.
-The vast majority of voters believe Comey’s allegations against Trump.
Harvard-Harris co-director Mark Penn told The Hill, “While the voters have a keen interest in any Russian election interference, they are concerned that the investigations have become a distraction for the president and Congress that is hurting rather than helping the country. Most voters believe that the president’s actions don’t rise to the level of impeachable offenses, even if some of them were inappropriate.”
The results of these poll numbers are explained with common sense – there has yet to be any evidence of Trump colluding with Russia or any evidence that Trump obstructed justice in his handling of Comey. And yet the media and the Democrats (a redundancy) keep hyping both issues as if Trump is a lawless president on a collision course toward impeachment.
Pointless mass hysteria continues to occur throughout the government and be reflected and magnified in the plague that we refer to as the media.
Voters, along with those who have already given up on politics all together, are sick and tired of the endless blabber and finger pointing while the news drums up hatred and contempt for the government and human race.
Eventually they tune it out and slowly uncross their fingers when their wishes to redirect the focus to more important issues never come true.
The poll was conducted from June 19-21 of 2,237 registered voters, 35% of whom were Democrats, 30% were Independents and 29% were Republicans.
