Disturbing Details of Vegas Shooter’s Past Emerges

We just learned a very disturbing detail about the Vegas shooter, Stephen Paddock’s, past:

The brother of Stephen Paddock, the crazed gunman who killed more than 50 people at an outdoor Las Vegas concert on Sunday night, has revealed disturbing details about their past.

Eric Paddock told reporters Monday that their father was a convicted bank robber who was added to the FBI’s Most Wanted list after escaping prison in the 1960s.

Patrick Benjamin Paddock, who went by a variety of aliases including “Chromedome” and “Old Baldy,” was arrested in his 30s for robbing a Valley National Bank in Phoenix in 1960. At the time he was living in Tucson with his wife and four kids.

Patrick Benjamin Paddock, the father of the Las Vegas concert shooter, was a convicted bank robber on the FBI’s Most Wanted list.

He escaped with over $4,600.

According to an Arizona Republic article dated Jan. 1961, the elder Paddock surrendered two days after the robbery after an officer shot at his vehicle, shattering his windshield.

Paddock was also accused of robbing two other Valley National Bank branches for more than $20,000, but the charges were dropped after he was convicted of the first crime.

According to a 1961 article, Paddock attempted to escape a Las Vegas jail by posing as another inmate. Paddock was waiting to be extradited to Phoenix at the time.

During a court appearance, Paddock testified that he would have fled the jail “if they had been lax enough to let me go.”

Nearly a decade later, Paddock did escape while serving a 20-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution at La Tuna in Texas.

According to reports the family is “dumbfounded” claiming no indication Stephen Paddock was capable of committing such a heinous crime:

Speaking with his brother Eric, The Daily Mail reports that the family is simply dumbfounded by the entire incident, saying that they have no idea why he would do such a thing.

Eric said that there was ‘absolutely no indication he could do something like this’ and said that Stephen had no political or religious affiliation.

He said: ‘He was just a guy. Something happened, he snapped or something’.

Speaking from his home in Orlando, Florida, Eric said: ‘We know absolutely nothing, this is just, we are dumbfounded.

Eric and Stephen have lived on different coasts for many years now. He was not very close with his brother, but said that he had spoken to him occasionally. Stephen’s last registered address was in Mesquite, Nevada, a town located in the northeastern part of Clark County. The population is estimated at just under 18,000.

He still says that he has no idea what would drive him to do this.

“We have absolutely no idea. Our condolences go to the victims and all their families.”

The family is in utter shock and is trying to cope with the news. For them, it will be an incredibly difficult time going forward as they try to make sense of this.

“Our family is OK, we’re sitting in here in our house hoping that everyone doesn’t attack us.

“My mother is 90 years old, lives down the street from me, we’re just completely dumbfounded.”

Eric further stated that his brother didn’t have any known political or religious affiliations. Until that information is obtained though, the motive is a mystery.
