ENOUGH! How The Leftist Media Is Encouraging Political Violence

Ed: This is the first in a series of articles about how “progressives” in our country have gone too far in their political rhetoric. Words lead to actions and too often, the action results in violence. Political violence is becoming the norm in this country and there are leftist institutions supporting this destructive notion. It must stop. Enough.

It all starts in the media.

They spread the narrative that Republicans and conservatives are pure evil and that their policy proposals and ideology is not just different or something to disagree with, but something to be actively opposed; something that is dangerous and deadly.

If you can convince the public that an “Obamacare repeal and replacement” proposal will actually kill people, then you might be able to justify violence against Republicans as a kind of “pre-emptive strike” or even “self defense.”

And that’s just what the media is doing.

The current climate started with the media’s glorification of violence against a particularly loathsome individual – Richard Spencer.

During a television interview in Washington while President Trump was being inaugurated, the white nationalist was being interviewed. In the middle of the interview, an anarchist ran up and punched him in the face. The video went viral and the leftist media was ecstatic

The New York Times even wondered if it was acceptable to “punch a Nazi.”

The leftist magazine The Nation seemed ready to grant sainthood.

But it got worse. Newsweek’s “senior writer,” Kurt Eichenwald decided that GOP lawmakers who vote to repeal Obamacare should have family members die.

He then clarified, saying they should be “tortured.”

They turn up the rhetoric and then drop this little bomb:

Violence against conservatives is justified.

Just days before Rep. Scalise was shot, The Huffington Post ran a piece defending “violence” against President Trump and conservatives to be “as logical as any.”

Here’s a little bit of this vile piece:

Violent resistance matters. Riots can lead to major change. It’s not liberal politicians or masses that historians identify as the spark underlying the modern movement for LGBTQ equality. Nor was it a think piece from some smarmy liberal writer. It was the people who took to the streets during the Stonewall Uprising. It was the Watts Rebellion, not the Watts Battle of Ideas, that exposed the enduring systemic neglect, poverty, inequality, and racism faced by that community. Similarly, it was the LA Uprising, not the LA Protests, that led to significant changes in the Los Angeles Police Department. More recently, the Ferguson and Baltimore Uprisings both helped prompt the Justice Department to investigate their corrupt police forces. And since we’re talking about fascism, it’s worth remembering that it wasn’t the election of a moderate centrist (hello, Hillary) or a sanguine protest that stopped its ascent in Europe. It was, primarily, the Russian military, and to a lesser extent the US military; neither of which practiced nonviolence if memory serves.

While that is going on, leftist sites like The Daily Beast write articles claiming Republicans are hoping old people will die quickly.

So we’ve come to this point. A sitting Congressman is shot and while he’s clinging to life in the hospital, the media begins attacking him with half-truths, innuendos and flat-out lies about the man’s voting record and who he associates with.

Enough. The media must stop peddling the nonsense that violence against conservatives is justified – even understandable. We cannot survive as a Republic if we continue to pretend that overt (or even tongue-in-cheek) support of violence is acceptable. It is time for the mainstream media to begin supporting this country – not tearing it down.
