Robert Gehl reports that a woman was attacked simply because she was reading a bible.
The attack happened at an Austrian migrant asylum home. An Afghan migrant attacked the women who was quietly reading the Holy Book.
The attack took place in the town of Timelkam in Upper Austria. The suspect was a 22-year old Afghan migrant who was annoyed that the 50-year-old woman was invited by Christian residents to read the bible, Breitbart reports.
Local news reports say he ran into the kitchen where the woman was chatting with others and attempted to stab her in the upper body. She was wearing a thick winter coat that protected her from serious harm, but the blow knocked her to the floor, where she injured her ear.
Police arrived and arrested the migrant.
Reports are he said he “overreacted” due to “personal problems.” He said he had never seen the woman prior to the attack.
So far this year, over 700 Christians have been attacked in homes for asylum seekers – with the majority of the perpetrators being Muslims.
The Christian charity “Open Doors” reports that 83 percent of cases reported include multiple assaults and half said they received death threats. Another 44 had been sexually assaulted.
In those cases, more than 90 percent of the attackers were Muslims. Not only that, the Muslim attackers were actual guards at the centers in 205 of those cases.
In August, an Iranian-born German politician converted from Islam to Christianity. He said that Christians face ongoing persecution in German migrant homes.
Mahin Mousapour said Christians in asylum centres were being told they are “impure as a dog”.
“Toys of Christian children are being destroyed, Christian asylum seekers are told not only to wash their dishes after eating but also that they must clean the entire kitchen as it would otherwise be ‘unclean’. Many Muslim asylum seekers call all Christians unclean. Church services are held in secret, bibles and crucifixes have to be hidden,” she said.
2016 has been a bad year for Christians around the world.
Throughout the entire year, almost 90,000 Christians were martyred around the globe, according to a new study.
A Christian was martyred once every six minutes in 2016, making it the most persecuted religious group in the world, the report from the Center for the Study on New Religions states, The Blaze reports.
