Robert Gehl writes that during the campaign, Hillary Clinton was so enraged with how it was going that she considered making voodoo dolls of Congressmen and members of the media.
In her new book, What Happened, the former Democratic presidential candidate revealed that she was so frustrated with the constant outrage over her use of a private email server that she thought of turning to the dark arts.
She insisted in the book that she “acted in good faith,” but simply made a dumb mistake. The need to continually explain herself was what drove her crazy, she said.
“It was like quicksand: the more you struggle, the deeper you sink. At times, I thought I must be going crazy. Other times I was sure it was the world that had gone nuts,” Clinton wrote. “Sometimes I snapped at my staff. I was tempted to make voodoo dolls of certain members of the press and Congress and stick them full of pins. Mostly, I was furious at myself.”
Now seriously, that’s really creepy… Just imagine of something like this was revealed about Donald Trump. We’d never hear the end of it!
Clinton has blamed Bernie Sanders, Republicans, former FBI Director James Comey, the Democratic National Committee, and a host of other actors for her loss in her book. But in the book, it was Comey’s testimony before Congress that she latched onto, The Daily Caller reports.
“Given my inability to explain this mess, I decided to let other voices tell the story this time. I hope that it helps to connect the dots and explain what did and equally important, didn’t happen,” Clinton notes, adding that releasing her frustration is “good for her mental health.”
Speaking about her take on the “meeting” between Hillary’s husband Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Hillary insisted that nothing unsavory took place.
“Comey has also pointed to the fact that Lynch and my husband had a brief, unplanned conversation on a tarmac in Phoenix in late June 2016, when their planes happened to be next to each other. Nothing inappropriate was said in any way, but both of them came to regret exchanging pleasantries that day because of the firestorm that followed,” Clinton wrote.
“There’s no doubt that the optics were bad, but that didn’t give Comey carte blanche to ignore Justice Department policies and overstep his bounds. The implication that Lynch, a distinguished career prosecutor, was suddenly compromised and couldn’t be trusted is outrageous and insulting,” Clinton wrote. “It’s also insulting to the former Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and all the other senior Justice Department officials who were in the chain of command.”
During his testimony before Congress in early June, Comey said the 2016 tarmac meeting forced him to hold an independent press conference to declare that charges should not be levied against Clinton over her use of an unsecured home server while acting as secretary of state.
I wonder. Did Hillary ever consider making voodoo dolls of Comey? Who really knows at this point…
