Illegal Crisis Reaches UNPRECEDENTED Level; Troops Sent To the Border…

Illegal immigrants hopping the border is nothing new. However, this time they’re hopping to get out of the United States, and it’s Canada dispatching soldiers to deal with them.

The Miami Herald reports that, believing they have a better chance of getting asylum in Canada rather than avoiding deportation in America, “thousands” of illegals have been fleeing from New York to Quebec via a remote NY back road.

In response, Canadian police have established a “reception center” with tents for processing the country’s new guests before their refugee applications are considered. Reportedly Sunday alone saw 400 border crossings at the spot in question.

Apparently, the police had to call in reinforcements to handle the flow:

Canada has sent about 100 soldiers to a remote spot on the Quebec-New York border where asylum seekers are crossing illegally.

The Canadian military said in a statement Wednesday that the soldiers will help the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canada Border Services Agency at the site.

They are preparing a place for tents that can hold almost 500 people. They will also install lighting and heating equipment.

The military says the soldiers won’t play a role in security and won’t be helping with law enforcement.

This is an unmistakable sign that, for now at least, illegal immigrants in the United States have gotten the message that there’s a new sheriff in town and the system can’t be gamed anymore. Donald Trump and Jeff Sessions have done a lot of important work to finally start enforcing our immigration laws.

Of course, now is not the time for conservatives to get complacent — making sure the message sinks in will require finally building the wall and implementing other enforcement measures such as E-Verify. The longer we go without these reforms, the more we run the risk of illegals thinking the Trump Administration’s tough talk is just talk. We’re already seeing one warning sign of precisely that with illegal border crossings creeping back up last month.

But in the meantime, we’d be lying if we didn’t admit to a little satisfaction of the irony here. After so many years of Canadians fleeing here to escape our northern neighbor’s socialized medical system, it’s only fair that they deal with a small taste of one of our problems.

What do you think of the job Team Trump’s done so far in controlling illegal immigration, and what do you think should happen next?
