Mic Picks Up Trump, Netanyahu Discussing Mutual Disdain For The Press

President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have had a favorable relationship from the beginning of Trump’s presidency, as he has consistently expressed support for the state of Israel.

But on Trump’s visit to Israel this week, they found out they have something else in common.

They both have great disdain for the press.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, a nearby microphone picked up a conversation President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump had with Netanyahus:

Trump told Mrs. Netanyahu that his wife was an admirer, prompting Mrs. Netanyahu to return the compliment.

“I talk every place about her, how great she is and how great you are,” Mrs. Netanyahu said.

“I can testify to that,” the prime minister said.

Mrs. Netanyahu then took a shot at the media and said that they hate the Netanyahus, but that the Israeli people love them.

“Because the majority of the people in Israel, unlike the media, they love us so we tell them how you are great, so they love you,” Mrs. Netanyahu said.

Trump chimed in and said that he and the Netanyahus have “very much in common.”

“Sounds familiar,” Mr. Netanyahu said.

“We will talk about it at dinner,” Mrs. Netanyahu told Trump. “A lot in common. The same media. Anyhow, we’ll talk about it.”

This shouldn’t really come as any great surprise to us.

We have known, since the beginning of then-candidate Donald Trump’s campaign, that the president is neither fond nor trusting of the establishment media.

And Netanyahu was recently featured on our site for calling CNN a fake news source.

Indeed, Trump and Netanyahu will have much to talk about at dinner…besides the Israeli state, of course.
