NFL Banned Teams From Honoring Murdered Cops, Threatened Players For Honoring 9/11

How quickly we forget history. Goodell history.

The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell received significant praise from players and coaches alike when he condemned President Donald Trump’s comments over the weekend.

[For those of you that have been sleeping under a rock, or hit by a rock, or sleeping under the large rock that hit you, at an Alabama rally President Trump said he wished the owners of NFL teams would fire the national anthem protesters and referred to said protesters as “sons of bitches.”]

Goodell said President Trump did not show appropriate respect for the NFL as these players were simply exercising their constitutional right of free speech.

Now, that is pretty interesting stuff. Goodell allowing NFL players to exercise their First Amendment rights.

Why is that interesting? Because that isn’t normally the case!

According to the Daily Wire, Goodell has stopped football players from honoring murdered cops and 9/11. They provide us with several excellent examples:

The Dallas Cowboys wanted to pay tribute to the five Dallas officers who were murdered at a Black Lives Matter protest on July 7, 2016. The Cowboys had been wearing a special decal on their helmets that said “Arm in Arm” that specifically honored the police officers – that is until the NFL stepped in and stopped it.

…Even more disgusting was the NFL’s response last September to players who wanted to honor the thousands of Americans who were murdered by Islamic terrorists on 9/11.

“Avery Williamson, a starting linebacker for the Tennessee team, hoped to wear a pair of specially-designed cleats at his team’s home opener Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, but he backed off when a league rep vowed to fine him for violating the league’s uniform code,” the New York Post reported.

Sooo…let me just make sure we’re clear.

Anything that is even remotely left-leaning, Goodell will support and stand by the players, whether that be Colin Kaepernick disrespectfully wearing pig socks or football players refusing to enter the stadium for the national anthem.

However, anytime an NFL player wants to quietly pay tribute to a fallen soldier or officer, Goodell takes away their…what did he call them? Oh, that’s right constitutional rights as players to exercise in free speech!

Right. That’s it…

Conservative talk show radio host Mark Levin hit the nail on the head when he discussed this phenomenon:

“Avery Williamson, a starting linebacker for the Tennessee team, hoped to wear a pair of specially-designed cleats at his team’s home opener Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings on the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, but he backed off when a league rep vowed to fine him for violating the league’s uniform code,” the New York Post reported.

There you have it, folks. That is the math. If the Left want to yell, they get to yell. If a patriotic American wants to pay his respects, he is silenced.

It’s as simple as that.

Are you boycotting? I am.
