Sen. Thom Tillis, a Republican from North Carolina, collapsed during a foot race in Washington, D.C., Wednesday morning and has been taken to a hospital in an ambulance.
Tillis, 57, was bein administered CPR by bystanders at the two-mile mark of a three-mile race in Anacostia Park in the southeast quarter of the city.

Just before the race, he tweeted a photo with fellow runners.

WSOC-TV reports that Tillis appeared unconscious at first, but was revived and was breathing when he was taken away by ambulance.
He was participating in the ACLI Capital Change 3-Mile Team Race. He had been participating in a race in support of Fidelco Guide Dogs, according to his Twitter feed.
