Nothing says “Happy Holidays” like genocide of the white, male race.
Does that sound crazy? Well, that is because it is. Really. Truly. Crazy.
Most midwesterners are known for their salt-of-the-earth, kind, no-nonsense demeanor.
Saying hello to those at the grocery store, striking up conversations while in line at the 7-11, shoveling your neighbor’s drive.
But this Indiana nurse, however, sounds more like the president of SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) than a member of the Welcome Wagon.
According to Fox News:
A controversial tweet allegedly posted Friday by a nurse at one of the largest hospital systems in the nation has sparked an internal investigation.
The tweet came from an account named “Night Nurse,” linked to Indiana University Health employee Taiyesha Baker, FOX59 reported.
“Every white woman raises a detriment to society when they raise a son. Someone with the HIGHEST propensity to be a terrorist, rapist, racist, killer, and domestic violence all star. Historically every son you had should be sacrificed to the wolves b___,” the tweet read.
An IU Health spokesman confirmed to FOX59 that Baker is a registered nurse, but declined to reveal the hospital where she is currently employed.
“IU Health is aware of several troubling posts on social media which appear to be from a recently hired IU Health employee,” the hospital said in a statement. “Our HR department continues to investigate the situation and the authenticity of the posts. During the investigation, that employee (who does not work at Riley Hospital for Children) will have no access to patient care.”
Baker claimed to work in pediatrics in previously deleted tweets.
There are a number of problems with this tweet, this story.
Let me count the ways.
First and foremost (and the most obvious), this is an incredibly racist and sexist post.
I’m not sure that needed to be said…but just in case. It is.
Secondly, this is the most highly-generalized-blanket statements I have ever read.
Isn’t this exactly what Civil Rights activists fight against?
That no power exists within color?
In other words, because you are white, you should not have power over someone else.
That because you are black, you are not inferior.
Instead, each individual proves their worth and merit by their actions, their character.
Yet, there has been a significant shift in the past several decades.
Instead of trying to treat everyone as equal, certain more radical groups have shifted and suggested that all whites must be evil, must raise rapists, murderers, terrorists.
Blanket statements. Boxes. Categories. Stereotypes.
The exact thing Civil Rights activists worked to upheave.
But, of course, individuals who make these statements do not care about justice, equality, fairness.
They only want power, to put others down, to point, to judge, to assume.
Who can casually throw out a suggestion that shares the same foundational logic as the Holocaust? Lynchings? Is this chick for real?
And this is a nurse?
Someone who has sworn to care for her patients?
Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King, Jr….even Malcolm X would shake their heads in shame if they were alive to see this.
Absolutely ashamed. Horrified.
