MSNBC hack Rachel Maddow made an even bigger fool of herself than usual the other day as her Trump Derangement Syndrome (and quest for ratings) led her to hype President Trump’s “leaked” 2005 tax return on air in one of the biggest letdowns ever to grace live television.
Maddow hyped the return as if there was some massive bombshell, but it ended up actually being in Trump’s favor. The leftist host was roundly criticized for the huge fail, but now she’s trying to claim that the return was particularly sterling because of Trump’s wife Melania and her immigration status at the time.
“2005 is the year Mr. Trump married his lovely wife Melania,” Maddow said, according to IJR. “This was their first jointly filed tax return as a married couple.”
Maddow continued her effort to deflect blame and save face.
“And that tax return would be used as a very important piece of evidence as to whether or not she should get citizenship,” Maddow noted. “So you better believe the 2005 tax return is going to be sterling, right? That it’s going to display excellent citizenship and no red flags whatsoever.”
You’ve got to be kidding me.
IJR broke down why this is so absurd:
Yet there are a few glaring flaws in her reasoning. Firstly, is Maddow implying that Trump orchestrated his annual company operations and financial picture to suit the timing of his marriage to then-Melania Knauss in order to have a clean document for her immigration process? Secondly, are the laws any different regarding U.S. Customs and Immigration documents and IRS documents when it comes to public disclosure? They are not.
The let-down to this tax return “scoop” must have been a difficult pill for the MSNBC host to swallow, who is apparently just realizing that the one 2005 tax return is almost certainly “out there” to defeat the narrative of liberals like herself.
This whole tax-gate situation evidences, if we needed more evidence, how desperate and pathetic the left really is.
There’s no two ways about it: Maddow made a fool of herself and eclipsed the letdown of Geraldo Rivera’s infamous Al Capone vault opening.
Instead of acknowledging that she blew it, Maddow instead does what leftists do — deflect.
All down the line the left flubbed this. From the get, they should have realized that this was a dud and either not reported it at all, or done so with the caveat that it doesn’t say much. Hyping this nothing story was absolutely absurd.
But that’s what the left is. They have no argument; all they have are emotional appeals, so this hysterical reaction to Trump is painfully predictable.
The 2016 elections showed the left that their typical tactics aren’t working. Since they aren’t ready to abandon their garbage ideology, they are doubling (tripling, quadrupling, you get the idea) down on it by ramping up their hate-filled hysteria against Trump and anyone that opposes them.
Sorry Maddow/leftists, no one else is to blame for this. Not Trump, not his wife, but you and your farce of an ideology.
