Donald Trump had one question for the media who were grilling him on his relations with Russia and President Vladimir Putin.
“Do you honestly believe that Hillary would be tougher on Putin than me?” he asked. “Does anybody really believe that?”
The comments came after he said that if the President of Russia actually likes him, then that can’t be a bad thing.
If Putin likes Donald Trump, I consider that an asset, not a liability, because we have a horrible relationship with Russia…” he said. “If Putin likes Donald Trump, guess what folks, that’s called an asset, not a liability.”
Trump also commented on suggestions that he was doing untoward and unsavory things while in a Russian hotel room, as alleged by the BuzzFeed report.
He said the he has always been aware of spying in hotel rooms in countries, including Russia.
“I am extremely careful. I’m surrounded by bodyguards,” he said. “I always tell them, be very careful, because… in those rooms you have cameras in the strangest places… You can’t see them and you won’t know. You better be careful or you will be watching yourself on nightly television.”
He added: “I’m also very much of a germaphobe, by the way,” Trump says, drawing laughter from the room.
