UH OH: Is Bernie Next to Be Hit With Charges of Being Inappropriate With Women?

Don’t look now, but one prominent media liberal just claimed the misogyny marathon currently wreaking havoc throughout Hollywood, the media, and Congress should claim the scalp of America’s favorite socialist.

The Washington Free Beacon reports that it all started with a Twitter tirade by leftist MSNBC host Joy Reid about the “crumbling authority” of men in media and politics due to the ongoing revelations of sexual harassment (or worse) from high-profile figures:

Over the course of her rant, Reid had an unexpected response for a follower who suggested that Vermont Senator and failed Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was still one of the good guys:

Hmmmm … what are Sanders’ “weird early writings,” and what might “his physical dismissal of women in his presence (including his own wife)” be referring to?

The first part is presumably a reference to an essay Sanders wrote for the “alternative newspaper” Vermont Freeman in 1972. The piece was ostensibly a critique of traditional gender roles and stereotypes, but employed some … questionable … hypothetical examples:

“A man goes home and masturbates his typical fantasy. A woman on her knees, a woman tied up, a woman abused.

“A woman enjoys intercourse with her man — as she fantasizes being raped by 3 men simultaneously.

“The man and woman get dressed up on Sunday — and go to Church, or maybe to their ‘revolutionary’ political meeting.

“Have you ever looked at the Stag, Man, Hero, Tough magazines on the shelf of your local bookstore? Do you know why the newspaper with the articles like ‘Girl 12 raped by 14 men’ sell so well? To what in us are they appealing?”

These are normal male fantasies, Bernie? Well, to loosely quote Edmund Burke, he who accuses all, convicts only one.

As for the second charge, some of Reid’s followers were helpful enough to link a couple of videos of what she was talking about:

So to be clear, the charge is not that Sanders is a sex maniac or predator who has done anything remotely like Matt Lauer or Charlie Rose; it’s simply that he’s a jerk with no sense of personal space. To which the obvious response should be: well, duh, he feels entitled to reach into people’s pockets too; that’s what socialism is.

Bernie’s wife, Jane O’Meara Sanders, was none too pleased about the MSNBC talking head using her to attack her husband, and shot back on Twitter:

What do you think about all this? Is Bernie Sanders a misogynist, or does Joy Reid have an agenda to destroy him because he dared to oppose Queen Hillary Clinton? Sound off in the comments below!
