USA Today Busted Spreading Fake News About Trump/DACA

The left hates law and order and wants open borders. That’s a pretty obvious statement, however, a recent fake news article by USA Today shows just how brazen the Democrat propaganda machine is in their efforts to push their radical agenda.

The article. On Tuesday, USA Today published an article titled: “First protected DREAMer is deported under Trump” which is in reference to the absurd policy implemented by former President Barack Obama in which illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children were allowed to stay here on a temporary basis (surely expected to become permanent if Hillary Clinton had been elected.)

Take a look at the sob story USA Today painted with emphasis added by Hot Air:

Federal agents ignored President Trump’s pledge to protect from deportation undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children by sending a young man back to his native Mexico, the first such documented case, a USA TODAY examination of the new administration’s immigration policies shows.

After spending an evening with his girlfriend in Calexico, Calif., on Feb. 17, Juan Manuel Montes, 23, who has lived in the U.S. since age 9, grabbed a bite and was waiting for a ride when a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer approached and started asking questions.

Montes was twice granted deportation protections under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program created by President Barack Obama and left intact by President Trump.

The truth. The article’s fake news is astounding here, so let’s start with an analysis from The Daily Caller News Foundation that debunks it.

USA Today reported Tuesday that an illegal immigrant protected by Barack Obama’s amnesty was deported in February after spending an evening with his girlfriend. However, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman told The Daily Caller that this story is false because Juan Manuel Montes Bojorquez did not receive amnesty and was caught climbing over a border fence when he was detained.

The USA Today story said that Bojorquez, 23, was apprehended by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents while he was waiting for a car ride to pick him up.

According to the article, he told the officers he left his wallet in his friend’s car and, because he didn’t have his ID or proof of his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status, he was deported.

Hot Air did an excellent job separating the fact from USA Today’s fiction. Here’s a break down of it.

USA Today Propaganda: Poor DACA recipient was apprehended whilst waiting for a ride home.

Fact: Calexico Station Border Patrol picked the illegal immigrant up just minutes after he reportedly scaled the border fence back into the United States.

USA Today Propaganda: Bojorquez left his wallet in the car and couldn’t prove his DACA status.

Fact: Guess when his DACA status expired? Aug. 2015. Bojorquez was made aware of this fact. It wouldn’t have mattered whether he had his wallet or not — he was here illegally.

USA Today Propaganda: USA Today noted that Mr. DACA said, “I thought that if I kept my nose clean nothing would happen.”

Fact: Aside from the fact that being here illegally is not “keeping your nose clean,” Bojorquez had a theft conviction and was given probation for it.

USA Today Propaganda: Montes Bojorquez was confused when law enforcement apprehended him.

Fact: “Admitted under oath during the arrest interview that he had entered illegally.”

What does this mean?  As Hot Air pointed out, even if this story wasn’t fake news, DACA is not a law but rather, simply a policy instituted by the previous administration. While it hasn’t been done away with formally, it can be at any time if Trump so chooses.

The bottom line is that, absurd policy or not, these people are here illegally. As Hot Air noted:

And even if it’s a policy for general conduct by the Border Patrol, that doesn’t mean that they can’t make exceptions. Montes was still in the country illegally and the fact that he wound up being sent back to Mexico after somebody spotted him illegally jumping the fence is not some horror story signaling the imminent arrival of the End Times. It’s law enforcement doing their jobs on the border.

Although I’d like to see Trump take a stronger stance on DACA and do away with the policy in which Obama thumbed his nose at the law, USA Today’s fake news is utterly shameless.

Even worse, leftists are just using issues such as this to push their radical agenda to tear this country apart, or as Obama liked to say, “fundamentally transform” it.

Hopefully people continue to see through the tactics by the left and more and more refuse to get sucked into their dangerous propaganda.
