Democrats, Hollywood stars and the media have been chastising President Donald Trump after he ordered a strike that killed Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani.
The Iranian general had been responsible for the deaths of hundreds, or thousands, of Americans and other innocent people.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper even compared Soleimani to Charles de Gaulle, a French resistance leader who fought the Nazis.

But it was CNN, on Friday, the day after the strike, that confirmed that the president had intelligence that Soleimani was planning more attacks and that they were imminent.
That means the president had to make a quick decision. Allow more American troops to be murdered by this man or take action to protect them.

“We have new reporting into CNN from myself and my colleague, Dana Bash. We are learning the Iranian general killed last night was planning specific attacks from neighboring countries around the region,” anchor Jim Sciutto said.
“It was suggested that these plans were maturing and that it became a strategic time to take out Soleimani. We should note, as well, that a source can knowledge says the attacks on U.S. Personnel were being plotted in the region and described that concern as being beyond the normal chatter in the region about such plots.
“In other words, they were moving forward to a direction and a degree that concerned U.S. Officials that attacks would be imminent.
“So we’re getting a sense here of why the president and his advisers felt the need to attack now, that these were in the latter stages and that they were targeting U.S. Interested, but also U.S. Personnel in the region,” he said as he was joined by Ret. Maj. Gen. James A. “Spider” Marks.
“I think what we’re seeing and clearly we don’t have the intelligence and it’s starting to flow in and I know Secretary Pompeo indicated earlier today that he would release what he could release without putting anyone else at risk,” Marks said.

“What you’re probably seeing is that the IRGC had plans in place for multiple targets, some degree of either sequence or simultaneous attacks.
“Therefore, you have the initial report of increased chatter. What that means is that there’s probably a lot of code discussion, there’s a lot of talk, things are lighting up in a way that they’ve not seen before, but is within a certain level of norms.
“It’s probably a greater volume that A is talking to B and B is talking to C which we haven’t seen before,” Marks said.

“Which indicates to me there were an opportunity for attacks to take place with some degree of coordination,” he said.
