Don Lemon probably wishes he never said this. At least now that Kamala Harris has jumped in the polls.
Back in March, CNN’s Lemon got into a fierce exchange with network contributor April Ryan. The debate had to do with whether Kamala Harris is really African-American or not.
Because, according to liberals, what a person looks like is more important than their ideas.

From BPR:
“Number one, she is a Black woman,” Ryan argued. “She is a mixed-race woman. When you see her, you see her Blackness. But she is also South Asian and her dad is Jamaican. She is a Black woman.”

Lemon pushed back strongly over whether Harris was African-American.
“There is a difference between being African-American and being black,” the CNN anchor insisted. “Latino people are people of color, but they are not black, they’re brown people.”

“She is a black woman,” Ryan interjected.
“I agree with that, but is she African-American?” Lemon shouted back. “All she had to do was say, ‘I am Black, but I’m not African-American.’”
When Ryan tried to point out that many Africans ended up in the Caribbean, Lemon interrupted to say, “Jamaica is not America. Jamaica did not come out of Jim Crow. I’m just saying.” …

Now here’s where things get really interesting.
Apparently, Don Jr. heard about this controversy after Harris’s father seemed to back-up Lemon’s doubts.
This week, Don Jr. re-tweeted a story about Harris and asked “Is this true?“

The tweet has since been deleted because liberals used it as an excuse to call Don Jr. a “racist.”
In the rush to condemn President Trump’s eldest son, the Trump-hating cabal neglects to share that the post he retweeted was from an African American, who was reacting to the fact that the 2020 presidential candidate’s parents are Jamaican and Indian.
Kamala Harris is implying she is descended from American Black Slaves.
She’s not.
She comes from Jamaican Slave Owners.
That’s fine.
She’s not an American Black. Period. ✊🏾 https://t.co/PYUJ8ZxbzR

In sharing the tweet, Trump Jr. asked, “Is this true? Wow.”
He would later delete the retweet, saying he did because of a misunderstanding of his intent.
Here’s how liberals reacted to Don Jr.’s tweet:

The attacks against @KamalaHarris are racist and ugly. We all have an obligation to speak out and say so. And it’s within the power and obligation of tech companies to stop these vile lies dead in their tracks.

“These are the same racist attacks his daddy tried on Barack Obama, and they didn’t work then, and they’re not going to work now.”

But of course nothing was said when Don Lemon forcefully pressed the issue.
And all Don Jr. did was ask a question.
Typical.
