J.K. Rowling, the world-renowned Harry Potter author and outspoken feminist, recently said that encouraging children to change their gender could become “one of the worst medical scandals in a century.”
Once celebrated by the left as a feminist hero, Rowling now finds herself under fire for her rejection of contemporary transgender ideology.
During her appearance on The Free Press’ podcast The Witch Trials of J.K. Rowling, the acclaimed author criticized the medical establishment and the left for promoting unproven gender theories to young children.

Rowling argued that medical professionals and those blindly cheering on these ideologies are fostering an environment where people trying to raise concerns are intimidated and silenced.
Rowling expressed her concern over the long-term implications for children being convinced that lifelong medical intervention is the only solution to their distress.

She stressed that while transition might be a solution for some adults with gender dysphoria, the issue is entirely different when it comes to children.
The author also highlighted the seemingly contagious nature of the transgender movement, pointing to the 5,000 percent increase in young girls diagnosed with gender dysphoria by the UK’s Tavistock Centre and its Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) in the past decade.
Rowling urged people to question the reasons behind such a surge.
Last year, it was announced that the Tavistock Centre, the UK’s largest gender clinic, would close due to its failure to protect children.
Hanna Barnes, a former BBC Newsnight journalist, exposed the clinic’s practices, including the use of puberty-blocking drugs on children, in her book Time to Think: The Inside Story of the Collapse of the Tavistock’s Gender Service for Children.

In the podcast, Rowling, who identifies as left-leaning, criticized the left for its “puritanical, judgmental, and authoritarian” approach to the woke movement, which she says is alienating significant portions of society, particularly young men.

She warned that by suppressing debate, freedom of thought, and expression, the left is pushing people toward embracing more toxic ideas where they feel accepted.
Rowling has faced backlash from the far-left for her views on transgenderism, including receiving death threats against herself and her family.
Despite the opposition, she continues to speak out against the dangers of promoting unproven gender theories to impressionable children.
