Laueren Boebert’s public groping of her gay bar owning, drag show hosting date matters and it matters regardless of how those on the other side behave.

First we need to set the record straight.

The Congresswoman is single adult who is free to do whatever she wants. While her actions caught on video was in poor taste, it was not illegal or even dramatically scandalous.

That is not the problem here.

I am not opposed to gay bars or people who own gay bars, like Boebert’s date. If he wants to put on drag shows for adults, away from minors, then he should have every right to do so.

It’s a free country and what consenting adults do behind closed doors is none of my business so long as it does not affect me or those around me.

That is not the problem here.

The problem is Republicans are held to a double standard and that’s as it should be given the world in which we live.

In the world we live in, Democrats, especially elected Democrats, have lost their moral compass and endlessly promote the worst kinds of debauchery.

Is it fair to hold Republicans to a higher standard?

In the world we live in a woman who debases herself sexually for paying fans can run for office as a Democrat and when she’s about to get outed liberal media tips her off so she can delete the videos.

Democrats can get away with almost anything. They can be complete moral lowlifes, they can even be brain dead, and still get elected.

They can do almost anything they want and a compliant media will cover for them. Just ask Joe and Hunter Biden.

Yet in some ways we can accept that because we all know Democrats are the scum of the earth who will do anything to get their agenda through.

Democrats walk their talk. Their goal it seems is nothing less than the destruction of our country and everything that is right and holy. And they live it daily.

Republicans, on the other hand, promote traditional family values, common sense and a return to the rule of law and sanity in government.

Republicans are judged by a double standard because they publicly hold themselves to a double standard. They claim to be more righteous than their left wing counterparts.

Republicans are also harshly and unfairly judged by the left wing media for every single mistake and every single deviation from the moral code they claim to believe in and live under.

The media will not cover for a Republican and will, in fact, amplify every scandal to make it seem bigger than it really is and every single elected Republican knows it.

A Democrat can have an affair, do drugs, engage in almost any form of debauchery and get away with it while a Republican engaging in similar behavior could find themselves at the end of their career over it.

Is that fair? Yes and no.

It’s fair for Republicans to be held to the standards they themselves proclaim and to and be held to the fire when they fall short.

What’s not fair is the way the media covers a Democrat versus a Republican scandal, but again every elected Republican is aware of this and has to factor it into everything they do.

So when Lauren Boebert publicly gropes a gay bar owning, drag show promoting date in public it matters, and she should have known and acted better.

What she does in her personal life is her own business but as an elected Republican Congresswoman she is expected to hold herself to a higher standard than her left-wing morally bankrupt Democrat counterparts.

She has to know that until she leaves office everything she says or does is going to be examined under a microscope for even the tiniest hint of wrong doing.

Ms. Boebert, and every other elected Republican in America, has to hold themselves to the highest moral and ethical standards even if their counterparts do not.

Every Republican who fails in this area can expect a very public pounding as the media and other Democrats hypocritically crucify them for the slightest misstep.

Is that fair? Yes, at least in this writers opinion.

Republicans need to walk their talk and be held accountable when they fall short because they claim to hold themselves to a higher standard.
