NBA Star Who Said Trump Needs To 'Get His S**t Together' Wanted For Domestic Violence

NBA star DeMarcus Cousins, who said in 2017 that President Donald Trump has to “get his sh*t together” is now being sought on an arrest warrant on a domestic violence charge.

It happened when his ex-girlfriend, and mother of his 7-year-old son, called police and said that Cousins threatened to “put a bullet in your (expletive) head.”

His ex-girlfriend recorded the conversation with the NBA star and gave a copy of it to the Mobile, Alabama police department, USA Today reported.

“The third-degree harassing communications charge was listed on the Mobile municipal court website, although no other information was provided,” Mobile police spokesperson Charlette M. Solis said.

“We are aware of the allegation involving DeMarcus Cousins and, of course, take this claim seriously,” his team, The Lakers, said.

“We are in the process of gathering information and will reserve further comment at this time,” it said in the statement.

Defense attorney Mary Kristen Galanos, who is not involved in the case, said that a suspect is subject to arrest in Alabama after an alleged victim signs a warrant in a misdemeanor case.

“They aren’t going (to) send a SWAT team out for him,” said Galanos of Shane A. Taylor & Associates. “What usually happens is that the person is picked up on a routine traffic stop.”

Galanos said since the investigation has garnered so much interest, Cousins’ attorney would likely set up time for Cousins to turn himself in to police, when he’d be processed and released. The charge is a Class A misdemeanor, meaning Cousins would face a maximum of a year in jail.

Should stars not get involved in politics?

Galanos said it’s unlikely Cousins would serve much if any jail time if convicted or if he takes a plea in the case.

But in 2017 it was Cousins who thought he should give life advice to President Trump on his comments about players kneeling for the National Anthem.

“With everything that’s going on … it’s sad … It’s kind of goofy if you think about it. The leader of our nation spends more time on Twitter than actually taking care of the situations and things going on,” he said.

“I could go on and on and I don’t want to get my personal feelings involved about it… It’s getting to the point where it’s just silly.

“I think we need to refocus on the task at hand. If you’re going to be in that position, lets work on the things that you said you were going to help.

“Some of the things that need to be touched on, we need to bring more awareness too. And where that awareness is we need to do something about it.

“I feel like the least of his concerns should be what’s going on in the NFL. We’ve got world issues going on and they’re barely being talked about by him, the leader of our nation.

“He needs to get his shit together,” the NBA star said at a press conference on Media Day as his team then, The Pelicans, began training camp.
