In a criminal case when the prosecutors fail to, or refuse to, prosecute the case against the accused the case is dismissed.
This is done because it is not fair to have a charge hang over a person’s head for their entire lives without giving them the chance to defend themselves.
And such will be the case with the Articles of Impeachment that House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi refuses to prosecute.

That is why close to a dozen Republican senators have signed on to have the Senate change its rules and allow for them to dismiss the Articles of Impeachment.
Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley introduced the measure on Monday as he promised he would, and it is gaining agreement among Republicans.

The resolution was signed onto by Sens. Rick Scott, Mike Braun, Marsha Blackburn, Ted Cruz, Steve Daines, John Barrasso, Tom Cotton, Joni Ernst, David Perdue and James Inhofe.
“The Constitution gives the Senate sole power to adjudicate articles of impeachment, not the House. If Speaker Pelosi is afraid to try her case, the articles should be dismissed for failure to prosecute and Congress should get back to doing the people’s business,” he said.

This would not cause for an immediate vote to dismiss the articles, but it would give Speaker Pelosi 25 days to prosecute or forfeit the case.
“Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats have made a mockery of our Constitution and abused impeachment for political gain. Now, they’re undermining the role of the Senate by attempting to dictate the terms of the Senate’s trial,” Sen. Cruz said.
“If the House refuses to send over the articles, the Senate should have the ability to dismiss and move on to finding real solutions for the American people,” Sen. Perdue said.
“Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are making a mockery of our government. Democrats have wanted to impeach Donald Trump since he came down that escalator four years ago,” Florida Sen. Scott said.
“They just hate Trump. But Chairman Schiff did a great job showing the American people that the President did nothing wrong and that this is just an effort to undo the 2016 election.

“If Nancy Pelosi doesn’t want to send the articles to the Senate, we should dismiss the articles of impeachment and get back to work on all the things that aren’t getting done, like securing the border, passing No Budget, No Pay and lowering the cost of prescription drugs.”
“By failing to deliver the articles of impeachment, the Democrats are admitting they bumbled their partisan impeachment. If the articles aren’t delivered in a timely manner, they should be dismissed,” Sen. Cotton said.
The other senators all shared statements of their own but the idea is the same. Either prosecute your case or move on.
It is time to get over your defeat in the 2016 election and allow President Trump to do his job unimpeded by your whining.

The only thing the Democrat House has done since taking power is to come after the president and his administration.
And they do it at the expense of the American citizens they are supposed to represent. Who sent them there to get work done.
