In the wake of a New York grand jury’s decision to indict former President Donald Trump, Reverend Franklin Graham took to social media on Friday morning to express his thoughts on the situation.
Graham lamented the indictment, stating that “God and God alone” can save the United States, while also criticizing Democrats for their alleged misuse of the legal system.
Graham’s statement read: “It’s a shameful day for America as former President @realDonaldTrump was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury.” He went on to accuse Democrats of exploiting the legal system “for their political gain while ignoring the current Administration’s faults and deficiencies.”

The reverend continued, asserting that only God can save the country, and questioned why He should listen to prayers when people have turned their backs on Him.
Nevertheless, Graham vowed to continue praying for divine intervention, hoping that the nation would remain a beacon of hope in a dark world.

The indictment comes after a Manhattan grand jury voted to charge Trump in a case related to alleged hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

A spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office confirmed the news, stating that they had contacted Trump’s attorney to “coordinate his surrender” and arrange an arraignment.
The specific charges and the arraignment date have not yet been made public.
In response to the indictment, Trump issued a statement, arguing that Democrats are weaponizing the justice system to target a political opponent, who also happens to be a former president and the leading Republican candidate for the next presidential election.
He accused Bragg of neglecting his responsibilities to address the crime wave in New York City, choosing instead to do “Joe Biden’s dirty work.”
Despite these challenges, Trump expressed confidence that the “witch-hunt” would ultimately backfire on President Biden and the Democrats.

In his statement, Trump vowed that Republicans would defeat not only Bragg but also Biden and other “Crooked Democrats” in the upcoming election.
