The Washington Post has broken the Brett Kavanaugh story wide open.
NOT.
If they think this is bombshell investigative journalism, they need to go back to school.

The Post has uncovered a scoop: President Donald Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court once had credit card debt.
But that’s not all: The judge actually had the temerity to pay it off.

After sending their best and brightest to dig up as much dirt on the judge as they could, all they could come up with was this:
In 2016, the judge had anywhere between $60,000 and $200,000 in debt, which he paid off the next year.

That’s it. That’s the big scoop.
The debt was from three credit cards and a loan on his retirement plan. What did he buy with his credit cards? Season tickets to the Washington Nationals for himself and a handful of friends.
Here’s how the bombshell report reads:
The credit card debts and loan were either paid off or fell below the reporting requirements in 2017, according to the filings, which do not require details on the nature or source of such payments. [White House Spokesman Raj] Shah told The Post that Kavanaugh’s friends reimbursed him for their share of the baseball tickets and that the judge has since stopped purchasing the season tickets.
They then have this line: “Shah did not provide the names of the friends.” Ooo.

The Post then goes on to provide detail on Judge Kavanaugh’s personal assets. It’s not much, by most standards. His assets are between $15,000 and $65,000, which would make him about the poorest judge on the court.
Of course, nobody except hysterical leftists, think this is a big deal. From The Daily Wire:
Why do we care about his debt? I care about his voting record.

Rendering this entire article as pointless. If this is your idea of a hit piece, you're going to have a longgg 8 years of Trump and his 3-4 Justices

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell weighed in:
“In a breaking news bombshell report just last night, we learned that Judge Kavanaugh enjoys America’s pastime,” McConnell said.
Our leftist friends at The Huffington Post had to weigh in with an idiotic headline that reads: Brett Kavanaugh Had Massive Credit Card Debt. The White House Blames Baseball.”
The comments for that story – on HuffPo – are nothing short of insane. Here’s a sampling:

“So it’s okay to spend $200,000 to watch a baseball game, but women’s health care is something we have to debate. And this is the best choice for the Supreme Court? Give me a BIG break.”
“Jesus, this judge has literally already been bought and paid for. By the parties who paid off his $200,000 credit card debt.”
“How do we know he’s not a gambler? If so, any religious affiliation? Erp, duh, the evangelicals will just give him a pass and say it’s ok.”
Do you see how they’re conflating this? The debt is listed as between $60K and $200K. It’s not $250K in credit card debt. It’s a combination of credit card debt and a retirement loan.

It could be $5,000 in credit card debt and a $60,000 loan on his own retirement.
They’ll stop at nothing.
