Shannen Doherty, the beloved star known for her roles in “90210” and “Charmed,” has provided a heartfelt update on her ongoing fight against breast cancer.
Just weeks after announcing her divorce from her husband of 11 years, the 52-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday to reveal that her stage 4 cancer has now spread to her brain.
In a poignant video accompanied by her candid words, Doherty expressed her fear and vulnerability.

She shared, “On January 5th, my CT scan showed [metastasis] in my brain. January 12, the first round of radiation took place.” The emotional clip captures her tearful moments as she undergoes treatment under the radiation machine. Doherty also acknowledged the additional challenges she faced at that time, saying, “I am extremely claustrophobic and there was a lot going on in my life [at the time the video was taken].”
While acknowledging the difficulties, Doherty expressed gratitude for her exceptional medical team and highlighted the emotional turmoil that comes with battling cancer.

She said, “But that fear…. The turmoil…. The timing of it all…. This is what cancer can look like.”
This recent update follows a video Doherty shared on Monday, documenting the process of being fitted for a mask used during radiation treatment to the brain.

The actress has been candid about her journey with breast cancer since her initial diagnosis in 2015, which went into remission two years later. Unfortunately, in February 2020, Doherty revealed that her cancer had returned and progressed to stage 4.
