Amanda Bynes, a 36-year-old actress, was placed on a psychiatric hold after being found wandering naked near downtown Los Angeles, according to TMZ.
The actress, who canceled a public appearance on Saturday, reportedly flagged down a car, telling the driver she was “coming down from a psychotic episode” before calling 911.
Bynes was taken to a police station, where a mental health team placed her on a 5150 psychiatric hold, a legal action that allows a qualified officer or clinician to confine someone against their will for 72 hours, which can be extended.

This comes after Bynes pulled out of reuniting with the rest of the All That cast at ’90s Con on Saturday, citing an “unknown illness,” as reported by That’s 4 Entertainment.
The reunion, which would have marked her first public appearance since the end of her eight-year conservatorship in March 2022, was set to include Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Danny Tamberelli, and Lori Beth Denberg.
Bynes starred on the sketch comedy show All That from 1996 to 2000. The show, created by Brian Robbins and Mike Tollin, originally aired on Nickelodeon from April 16, 1994, to October 22, 2005. It was billed as “SNL for kids” and included short comedy sketches and musical guests.
A revival of the series, with original cast member Kenan Thompson as executive producer and Mitchell rejoining the cast, aired its 11th season in June 2019. The last episode was broadcast on December 17, 2020, after production was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In her personal life, Bynes and her boyfriend Paul Michael ended their engagement in July 2022 but reportedly reconciled in August.
They are rumored to be living together in Bynes’ L.A. home but are not engaged again. TMZ sources indicate they are only dating after calling off their engagement.
Rumors of their reunion surfaced in October 2022 when Bynes posted a photo on Instagram showing her holding hands with Michael, identifiable by his distinctive tattoos.
The photo was shared two months after news of their engagement ending was first reported.

The couple got engaged on Valentine’s Day 2020, shortly after staying at the same sober living facility.
In April, Bynes called 911 on a healthcare worker during a dispute over his relapse, accusing him of vandalizing his mother’s home, viewing inappropriate content, and not taking his medication.
Apart from her personal relationships, Bynes has been working on a fragrance line and pursuing another degree at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) after earning her associate’s degree there in 2019.
In March 2022, Bynes was released from a nine-year legal conservatorship controlled by her mother, Lynn.

The conservatorship began in 2013 when Bynes was involuntarily committed to a Pasadena psychiatric treatment facility following a series of incidents involving the law.
These included two hit-and-runs and a DUI in 2012, as well as a 2013 arrest for throwing a bong out of the window of her Manhattan apartment.
