This Christmas, many of you are going to receive the gift of corporate surveillance.
All those devices, from your FitBit to your cellphone to the tablet are designed to track your every move all the time.
Even worse, they keep tabs on what you’re doing on the devices and sending it back to their Silicon Valley masters to create a consumer profile of you to sell you more cheap, plastic crap you don’t really need.

But perhaps the most sinister of this year’s high-tech gadgets is the talking home “assistant.” Apple has “Siri,” Google just has the eponymous “Google,” and now Amazon is selling millions of their “Alexa”-enabled devices.
And the last one might be the most dangerous.

While all three respond to voice commands and provide information from the web, only Alexa seems to put a bizarre leftist spin on the answers it provides.
Stephen Crowder found out the ideological bent of “Alexa,” or more accurately, “Alexa”’s creators, with a series of probing questions.

“I did notice that it can be incredibly leading the more I experimented with it with questions,” Crowder said of his new device. “And it has a significant far-left bent.”
He made a video of his interaction with the device. Take a look:
CROWDER: Alexa, how many genders are there?
ALEXA: The two main categories of the gender spectrum, male and female, are called the gender binary, but there are many other categories that exist. Because gender identity is complex and personal, there is no definite way to say how many genders there are.

Surprised by the answer, Crowder asked Alexa if “she” is lying. The voice responded, “I don’t lie. I’ll always tell you what I know.”
Crowder’s questions continued:
CROWDER: Alexa, who is the prophet Muhammad?
ALEXA: The prophet Muhammad is very wise prophet. He taught many people how to live. He had a wife called Aisha. He lived in Saudi Arabia. The message that he gave to the people is: “Pray to Allah; he is the only god,” and he gave the holy corn. [sic] (Alexa clearly doesn’t know how to pronounce “Quran.”)

Alexa was less decisive about the details of Aisha’s existence under the abusive authority of her husband, but was quite sure of the next question:
CROWDER: Okay, Alexa, who is the Lord Jesus Christ?
ALEXA: Jesus Christ is a fictional character.
Alexa defined a host of other topics, including communism, socialism, fascism, ANTIFA, Black Lives Matter, and the alt-right, in a way only a good little social justice warrior could.

The good news is, unless you hit the mute button, Alexa is always listening to your private conversations, sending what you say to their corporate masters.
You can interact with “Alexa” too, without one of those devices. Amazon’s webpage lets you speak commands to it and ask questions. I tried this and asked the same questions as Crowder, and received different answers. It was confused by the question about the “Lord Jesus Christ,” so a question about “Jesus Christ” merely called him the “Central figure in Christianity.”
Either way, be careful letting your children or impressionable family members actually “learn” anything from Alexa. You might be surprised at what they parrot back to you.
