It has already become clear that Democrats calling in the National Guard — to the tune of tens of thousands of troops — was nothing more than a photo-op for incoming President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
All of those “credible” threats that we were warned about, including another Capitol siege, not to mention the attacks that were supposed to take place “in all 50 state capitals” — none of it happened. Not a single instance. As a matter of fact, the only rioting that took place during Biden’s inauguration happened to be initiated by Antifa in Portland and Seattle.
Because the troops were no longer needed or useful to high-powered Washington D.C. politicians, according to the Washington Examiner, thousands of them were kicked out of the Capitol Building and reportedly relegated to a parking garage where roughly 5,000 troops had to sleep on cold, concrete floors while sharing one bathroom with two stalls, and a single electrical outlet for all of them.

As soon as word of this absolutely disgusting treatment of our fine men and women in uniform, social media absolutely blew up with ticked off Americans demanding that Congresspeople intervene immediately to provide the troops a decent place to sleep and some hot food — but more on that later.
“Yesterday, dozens of senators and congressmen walked down our lines taking photos, shaking our hands, and thanking us for our service,” a guard member told Politico. “Within 24 hours, they had no further use for us and banished us to the corner of a parking garage. We feel incredibly betrayed.”

In other words, the troops made for perfect photo-ops but those who would shake their hand would later decide to kick the soldiers out in the cold.
“As Congress is in session and increased foot traffic and business is being conducted, Capitol Police asked the troops to move their rest area,” Guard spokesman Maj. Matt Murphy said.

Reports of the troops quickly spread among members of Congress, most of them being Republicans who actually stepped in to provide relief for the cold and hungry troops who just spent two weeks guarding Capitol Hill for virtually no reason, whatsoever.
Rep. Madison Cawthorn, the young, wheelchair-bound lawmaker was one of the first members of Congress to intervene. Not only did he tell the troops that they could use his office to sleep in, he also pulled up with a stack of hot pizzas to feed the hungry troops.
I just visited the solders who have been abandoned & insulted by our leaders. I brought them pizza and told them that they can sleep in my office.
No soldier will ever, ever sleep on a garage floor in the US Capitol while I work in Congress

Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema made a similar offer and vowed to get to the bottom of why our troops had been sardined into a diesel fume-filled parking garage.

My office is available; the Guard is welcome to it. There is plenty of space in the US Capitol for the men and women keeping us safe. https://t.co/YAUMnRdOrt

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz also jumped in, taking action to make sure National Guard troops of his state were taken care of.
Earlier this evening my staff reached out to @TexasGuard leaders to make sure #TX Guardsmen are okay & that they’re being taken care of while serving in our Nation’s capital.
This should NEVER have been an issue, but glad to hear they have been welcomed back inside the Capitol.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy directly called out Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is in charge of the Capitol Complex, demanding to know why our troops were being treated so poorly after providing weeks of protection.
Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Schumer—why are American troops who are tasked with keeping security at the Capitol being forced to sleep in a parking lot?
They deserve to be treated with respect, and we deserve answers. pic.twitter.com/J0R2dRC8bM

Many more Republican lawmakers and senators finally stepped in and began resolving the situation. Later reports indicated that the troops were welcomed back into the Capitol Complex and some nearby, vacant hotel rooms as National Guard commanders coordinated with states to get the troops back home.
It’s quite ironic that on the first full day of his presidency, President Joe Biden — who always ends his speech with “and may God protect our troops” — apparently didn’t think our troops were good enough to stay warm and fed inside the Capitol Building that they’d protected for so long.
I suppose Biden was being truthful when he once called our troops “stupid bastards,” which you can see for yourself in the video below as a reminder.
@JoeBiden calls our amazing troops Stupid B*stards during the campaign trail. Now they all are sitting in a parking garage.
