"Black Lives Matter" Tries To Deflect Blame For Dallas Killings

Following the deadly sniper attack in Dallas, a “Black Lives Matter” activist and senior editor at The Huffington Post published a lengthy screed deflecting blame for the attack away from BLM and onto guns instead.

“Black Lives Matter is an organization that spreads love, not hate — and it condemns violence altogether,” editor Lilly Workneh wrote. “We should focus our energy on remembering those who have lost their lives to gun violence, both this week and every other.”

BLM has been caught dozens upon dozens of times in the past few years promoting violence against not only the police but all white people as well. Need some examples?

Granted, these protesters do not represent “Black Lives Matter” in its entirety, but the very fact that BLM protesters grow angry whenever anyone dares to assert that “All Lives Matter” makes it clear that it is NOT “an organization that spreads love.”

If anything, BLM is nothing more than a ragtag group of grievance mongers who resent both the police and the actual truth, which is that unjustified police shootings of black males are a rarity.

Cue National Review contributor Jim Geraghty:

The Washington Post compiled a database of all police shootings in the country and found 990 people were shot dead by police in 2015. Of those, only 93 were unarmed; 38 were black and unarmed. Of the 505 people shot dead by police in 2016 so far, 37 were unarmed; 13 were black and unarmed.

Moreover, BLM members like Lilly Workneh remain unwilling to acknowledge the indisputable facts and statistics pertaining to black criminality, which anyone with common sense knows spurs the vast majority of police encounters that lead to fatal shootings.

Instead, BLM — as well as President Barack Obama and the liberal mainstream media — keep spouting off about the “racist” way the police “target” blacks and then unfairly “murder” them.

Yes, some black men wind up unjustifiably deceased at the hands of the police, but the same thing can be said about some white men. This means the problem of unjustified police shootings transcends race; though as a reminder, it still represents a tiny minority of all police encounters.

But BLM cares zero about any of these facts. Nor does BLM tell the truth when it claims its movement has nothing to do with violence (H/T Breitbart):

Last but not least, the existence of even tougher gun laws would have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to prevent Thursday’s tragedy.
