It looks like the first 2020 Democratic party hopeful is dropping out of the race and it’s none other than California Congressman Eric Swalwell.
This is probably good news for the Democratic Party in general as it’s one less certifiable lunatic up on stage.
That said Swalwell is well known for being even a bit more nuts than the rest of the 2020 field, if that’s even possible.

The Washington Examiner has more:
Swalwell struggled to gain traction in a crowded Democratic primary field packed with senators, governors and former Vice President Joe Biden since announcing his candidacy in early April. He had openly mulled over a presidential run through the 2018 midterm election season, visiting many early primary states.
A staple of cable news shows, as a member of the House Intelligence Committee Swalwell is a frequent critic of President Trump over the Mueller report, and recently called for his impeachment.
Last week, Swalwell abruptly canceled a New Hampshire campaign swing that was scheduled for July 3 and 4.

He hinted in June that he would drop out of the presidential race to focus on his congressional reelection bid if support flagged. “I hope to be part of the field as it shrinks. If I don’t, I’m going to be realistic about my options,” he Swalell said.
This is not surprising as Swalwell made a complete fool of himself during the first Democratic 2020 primary season debate, as Reuters reports:
“The debate on Thursday descended early into a shouting match among the candidates after Swalwell, 38, a congressman from California’s San Francisco Bay Area, all but accused front-runner Joe Biden of being too old to run.
Swalwell recalled going to a Democratic Party event in California at the age of six and hearing then-candidate Biden tell an audience it was time to pass the torch to a new generation.
“Joe Biden was right when he said it was time to pass the torch to a new generation of Americans 32 years ago,” he said. “He’s still right today.” Biden, 76, quipped in response: “I’m still holding onto that torch.”
