California High School's 'Teacher of the Year' Arrested For Allegedly Sexually Assaulting a Minor Student

Tracy Vanderhulst, a math teacher at Yucaipa High School in California, was arrested on Thursday night for allegedly having sexual contact with an underage male student.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation started on Thursday, after which the officials were able to identify Vanderhulst as the suspect.

As of now, it is unclear whether the 16-year-old victim was still studying at Yucaipa High School.

Tracy Vanderhulst had joined the faculty in 2013, and was even recognized as the school’s Teacher of the Year in 2017, as per Yucaipa High School’s official Facebook page.

She was booked into Central Detention Center in San Bernardino with a bail set at $30,000.

It is reported that authorities believe there might be more victims.
