On Thursday, Democrats in Congress introduced a bill called the “Vote at Home Act.” The Epoch Times reports that the bill “seeks to ‘massively expand vote-at-home ballot access,’ enacting automatic voter registration and providing voters with pre-paid ballot envelopes.”
Democrat Senator Ron Wyden and Democrat Representative Earl Blumenauer released a statement saying they “introduced new legislation to fight voter suppression by ensuring every American voter has the option to vote at home.” The Congressmen from Oregon said the legislation meant to increase access to vote-at-home ballots would “provide voters with pre-paid ballot envelopes and enact automatic voter registration.
Sen. Wyden said, “Our democracy is stronger when every American can vote, without standing in ridiculous lines or having to take time off work or school to exercise their Constitutional rights. To get the big things done that really improve Americans’ lives, our country needs the government to represent all Americans.”

The Senator cited Oregon’s long history with mail-in ballots as proof that “voting at home is a time-tested, secure and accessible way to vote.” I’m sure it is only a coincidence that Oregon has almost exclusively voted Democrat in every federal election since enacting their mail-in ballot system in the 1990s. This fact probably has zero influence over the Democrats pushing for the federal government to “massively expand vote-at-home ballot access.”
Rep. Blumenauer said, “The individual right to vote, the cornerstone of our democracy, is under threat in communities across America. Last year we saw a widespread expansion of vote-at-home access as a safe and secure way to participate during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

He continued, “We should continue to make voting easier, not harder. This important bill would strengthen and clarify the rights to vote at home, the most secure and convenient way for voters to exercise the franchise.”
The Republicans introduced a bill weeks ago that served the exact opposite purpose. Rep. Jim Banks led the Republican Study Committee in introducing The Save Democracy Act. The Act “aims to close loopholes that prevent secure and fair general elections by strengthing voter registration verifications, narrowing rules for when and how mail-in ballots can be accepted, and mandating observers from each party is allowed to be present during polling and vote counting” reported by The Epoch Times.

Rep. Banks says that the Republican bill “will restore the public’s trust that their vote is counted and their voice is heard.” The issue of election integrity isn’t going away with bills that won’t pass.
The Epoch Times originally reported that a Pew Research Center survey showed “only 5 percent of Trump voters thought the election was administered well compared to 64 percent of Biden voters.” The main issue seems to be whether “they were very confident that their votes were counted accurately, only 35 percent of Trump voters agreed” that their votes were counted accurately.
The Democrats are pushing to expand mail-in voting at a time when our country is divided, and millions of Trump voters still believe that the election was “stolen” by the already “unconstitutional” expansion of mail-in voting they saw in the 2020 election. The only way to stop this disaster is to call your state legislature and tell them to stop expanding mail-in voting.
