Ex-Mueller Prosecutor Panics Over Trump's Call to Action Amid Rumors of Potential Arrest

In a recent MSNBC interview, Andrew Weissmann, former member of Robert Mueller’s special counsel investigation, commented on former President Donald Trump’s recent statement on the TRUTH Social platform.

“My final is point is his language in that TRUTH social where he stays just on the side of the law by saying, you should protest. Of course, everyone has a constitutional right to protest peacefully the language take our nation back gets a little closer to the line and it is notable to me that he did not say, you should protest peacefully it was sort of conspicuous that he left that word out. Even though, as we all know, on Jan. 6 he did throw that word in, which gave him some potential legal cover, but he didn’t do that here.”

Weissmann, known for his extreme left-wing partisanship, raised concerns about Trump’s rhetoric, suggesting that the former president was tiptoeing around the boundaries of the law. As a conservative, I find it important to examine the context and implications of Weissmann’s statement and Trump’s words.

Weissmann’s statement refers to Trump’s encouragement for people to protest and “take our nation back.”

Weissmann notes that while Trump mentioned “peaceful” protest during the events leading up to January 6th, he conspicuously left out the word in his latest message.

The omission of “peaceful” might raise some eyebrows in leftist circles, but to insinuate that Trump is promoting violence is a considerable stretch.

It is crucial to remember that the right to protest is enshrined in the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which guarantees freedom of speech, assembly, and the right to petition the government for redress of grievances.

Encouraging protest is not unlawful; in fact, it is a fundamental aspect of American democracy.

The phrase “take our nation back” might as easily be interpreted as a call for citizens to reclaim their constitutional rights and restore traditional values.

Critics of Trump, like Weissmann, often seem to be looking for any reason to disparage the former president. Their focus on his choice of words is indicative of a broader trend where any statement made by Trump is met with skepticism and hostility.

In conclusion, Andrew Weissmann’s assertion that Trump’s language on TRUTH Social is somehow skirting the law is an overreach. While it is true that Trump did not explicitly use the word “peaceful” in his latest message, it is essential to consider the broader context of his statement and the rights that American citizens have to protest. Instead of scrutinizing every word uttered by the former president, we should encourage open dialogue and a focus on the issues that truly matter to our nation.
