U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV has just ruled that Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s shut down orders and business closure rules were unconstitutional.

Butler, Fayette, Greene and Washington Counties sued Gov. Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine, as well as some Republican officials in those counties like Congressman Mike Kelly and state Reps. Marcie Mustello, Daryl Metcalfe and Tim Bonner.

They and several businesses said their constitutional rights were violated. The counties were in the “red” phase when they filed the lawsuit in May.
“Does a governor, any governor, our governor, Wisconsin’s governor, whomever, do they have the authority — through the Constitution of the United States of America — to shut down the economy the way they did or force closures of any businesses?” Washington County Commissioner Nick Sherman told KDKA in July after two full days of testimony.

The judge also said in his ruling that while the governor’s intentions may have been good that still does not give him the authority to do what he did.
This could be the beginning of the end of the lock down and business shutdowns nationwide.

Once one domino comes tumbling down the rest should follow in relatively short order.
