Many companies have similar goals–expand business, make greater profit, etc. Google has always been a little more unconventional. This, however, is just downright wacky.
The latest trend in progressive circles is the “diversity statement.” Companies without said statements, or who are not explicit (and encouraging, and hand holding) about rights of LGBTQ alphabet soupers (am I missing any letters?), are then pegged by liberals as backwards, homophobic, racist, sexist, etc.
That must be why Google now marks its progress by hiring less white men.

According to the Daily Wire:
Hiring less white men and pursuing more hires of blacks, Hispanics, and women is “[moving] in the right direction,” according to Google’s “diversity” page profiling its hiring practices.

A declining share of white men composing its workforce is described as “progress:”
In a recent blog post, Google’s Vice President of People Operations Nancy Lee called for a “conversation about the need to improve diversity at Google and across the tech industry.”
With respect to Google’s internal promotions, merit is implied to have been subverted, at least partially, in exchange for “equitable outcomes” between varying groups defined by race, ethnicity, and sex.
Google explicitly states, “We check and recheck processes like promotion and performance reviews to make sure they’re producing equitable outcomes.”

No need to actually go through your quarterly job performance evaluation; simply check a box and see if you are one of the lucky few to be promoted!
Google is also pushing “unconscious bias training” and implementing hiring quotas.
I just don’t get it.

The entire purpose of the civil rights movement was to take power out of any one particular color.
I.E., White people should not be superior because they are white. They shouldn’t have better education, better jobs, better facilities simply because of the color of their skin.
But, I guess this isn’t about history, or leveling the playing field.
It’s about equal outcome.
