President Donald Trump and the lawyers working overtime and against the clock to prove that widespread voter fraud took place in the 2020 election have proven that they have no interest in backing down in what could be the most impactful legal battle in modern American history.
According to Fox News, the campaign made a huge step on Tuesday morning, filing a bombshell lawsuit in the Wisconsin Supreme Court in which the campaign alleges that roughly 220,000 ballots were affected by an abused absentee ballot situation.
The lawsuit was filed less than 24 hours after the state completed its partial recount — at the direction and expense of the Trump campaign — in which Biden received a slight increase in the final results — something that the Trump campaign believes is far from the truth.

In the lawsuit, the Trump campaign shined a light on “a lack of transparency and credibility on part of local election officials and their willful disregard of the law on multiple occasions.” They go on to allege that due to widespread attempts to circumvent Wisconsin election law, that tens of thousands of votes were cast “well outside of the bounds of Wisconsin law.”
Also called into question is the allegation that many absentee ballots were cast and counted without proper absentee applications on file, which is reportedly required by law in order for the ballot to count. The Trump campaign accused Wisconsin election officials of overlooking the law.

Other allegations include election officials illegally filling in addresses on envelopes that didn’t have an address listed, as required by law to validate a vote.
“In many instances, witness addresses were left off of the envelopes and clerks, using their own knowledge or searching in unknown databases, filled in the information themselves,” a person from Trump’s campaign explained to Fox News.

Because of that, the Trump campaign demands that any ballots that were part of that should be immediately invalidated.
Wisconsin Circuit Court Judge Jim Troupis explained that the Trump-ordered recount was never likely to overturn the results of the state’s vote counts, rather, it provided Trump’s lawyers a chance to take the next steps in the legal recourse process, including filing the lawsuit.
“Exposing exactly how the election processes were abused in Wisconsin holds enormous value for this election beyond a victory for President Trump, but the fact is, our state’s electoral votes likely won’t change the overall outcome,” Troupis said.
“Regardless, we’re demonstrating that the results of this election unequivocally ought to be questioned,” he added.
There are countless other allegations in Trump’s Wisconsin lawsuit, which will undoubtedly take time for the state’s Supreme Court to investigate. While many remain hopeful that a judge on the state’s High Court will rule in favor of Trump’s lawyers, he’ll still need to achieve similar victories in several other states to overturn the 2020 election results.

But at the very least, Trump is not backing down and whether he ends up winning or not, his team is taking an important stand for American democracy and future elections, and for that, we should all be extremely thankful.
