Meme Shoots Liberal Gun Control Arguments to Pieces

Sierra Marlee reports 300 deaths in one city in half a year? This unbelievably high number is surely the fault of the NRA, right Democrats?

If you listen to progressives, you would believe that every evil act in the world is committed by a gun or an NRA member. Easily available firearms can be blamed for obesity, gingivitis, and the perpetuation of hurtful stereotypes.

Everyone who is a card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association is directly related to every person to ever use a gun to kill someone, ever. Finally, untaxed ammunition has been found to have a direct relationship to the melting glaciers that are killing polar bears.

Strangely, the one thing they aren’t being blamed for is the hundreds of deaths that have taken place in Chicago from January – June 2016. In fact, Father’s Day weekend saw the 300th death this year, yet it received absolutely no mass media coverage. No liberal anti-gun groups could be found making a statement about how terrible it is that these killers got their hands on legally-obtained firearms. Black Lives Matter was not present to discuss how black people are being disproportionately affected by the slaughter taking place on the streets. Not even Obama could be bothered to make a statement on the current state of his hometown.

Why are these people being forced to suffer in silence? Why are their deaths going unrecognized while the deaths of others, such as the victims of the Orlando terror attack, are being given infinite airtime on the major news networks?

The answer is depressingly simple: Chicago is a leftist utopia gone tragically wrong.

It was supposed to be an example of why every town should be gun-free and run by Democrats. It was supposed to be an example of how socially liberal policies bring about peace, prosperity and unification. The reality, however, is that their policies have taken a once-thriving city and destroyed it in a matter of years. The one idea that has done the most damage to the people of Chicago is the one that has done the least to keep its promise: gun control.

Liberals love to tell the rest of us that gun control is the only way to keep people safe, but all it takes is a quick glance at places where they’ve already gotten their way to know that they are lying through their teeth.

Last weekend, while the rest of us celebrated Father’s Day with hot dogs and ugly ties, Chicago watched its death toll continue to rise. 55 people were shot, with 13 passing away, and there was not one peep from anyone with media influence. Nobody could even be troubled to place the blame on Republicans or “gun culture.” Why? Because Chicago has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country, yet people die there more frequently than almost anywhere else in the country. How is that possible? Shockingly, criminals don’t much care for laws, and instead, use the opportunity to victimize as many people as possible because nobody has any legal way to defend themselves from a thug with an illegally obtained firearm.

While those of us who are paying attention pray that these unfortunate souls rest in peace, those with a misguided agenda to push will continue to ignore the physical manifestation of everything that is wrong with their ideology.

Chicago deserves better, and so does America. We deserve better than people who pretend to care about our safety until they get what they want from us, and then leave us to die.
