So many Congressional Republicans rode President Donald Trump’s coattails over the past four years, using him to tap into a fired-up base of new voters and other die-hard Trump supporters to gain support for re-elections and policy proposals.
The least they could do — after showing their true colors over the past two months — is show a modicum of respect for the outgoing president, but according to Business Insider, three of the most high-profile Republicans in the country have indicated that they’ll be skipping his departure ceremony on Wednesday morning.
Those three Republicans who have decided to snub the president’s final farewell include Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy and Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump is expected to depart from the White House for the last time on Wednesday morning, where he’ll be taken to Joint Base Andrews for a small military send-off, as is tradition for an outgoing president.
So, where are the three clowns mentioned above going to be?
Well, two of them, including McConnell and McCarthy, will be attending Mass with President-elect Joe Biden at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, DC, which is just a short jog down the street from the White House.
And while those two skipping out on the president isn’t a total surprise, Pence will not be attending because he’s scheduled to attend Biden’s inauguration ceremony later in the day and his aides claim that logistical concerns prevented him from sending off his boss for the past four years.

What an absolute shame and a further indication that the Republican party is going to have a lot of serious self-reflection time over the coming years as they continue to alienate tens of millions of Trump-supporting Americans who only cared about Republicans because of Trump.
The president has reportedly requested a military-style send-off, complete with a military band and potentially a fly-over, while at Joint Base Andrews as he awaits his flight to return to his Florida home at Mar-a-Lago.
Not surprisingly, critics of the president in the media clutched pearls recently as the president revealed that he would not be attending Biden’s inauguration, which is a clear break in tradition but obviously a move that wasn’t unexpected, given the tension between the two camps.
Vice-President Pence now completes the Trump snub-trifecta — joining McCarthy and McConnell as he skips the president’s send-off tomorrow at Joint Base Andrews.
