For a network that carried nonstop reporting about the dangerous “new Hitler” Donald Trump, you would think they would be adamantly against any form of antisemitism. But they show us time and time again that they aren’t. For five years, they used the murder of millions of innocent Jews to gain political points.
Most people who used Jewish pain for selfish gain claimed to care about the Holocaust and said that their use of the analogy was their way of simply continuing the conversation so that the atrocities committed would never again be allowed. But really, these are the same people that call it Palestine and support anti-Jewish hate groups.
Outrage culture at its worst weaponized against a sitting president at the expense of the innocent.

The media often hold racist or bigoted views but are allowed to hide behind their liberal letterhead. NBC, already under fire after allowing an inaccurate and anti-semitic joke by ‘comedian’ Michael Che to air, continues to face backlash after ANOTHER one of its shows portrays the Jewish community in a false and negative light.

The head of young leadership at The American Jewish Committee’s (AJC), Seffi Kogen, flagged a clip of NBC’s hit show ‘Nurses’ on Twitter, saying, “I think this is the most antisemitic thing I have ever seen in a TV show.” He goes on to explain just how false the portrayal NBC gave of the Hasidic Jewish patient.
Kogen writes, “For those of you unfamiliar with Jewish law, which puts precedent on healing and saving lives, there is no prohibition on the kind of bone graft in this clip.”

“The writer’s made it up,” he continued, “dressed their actors in Jew-face and put random extremist nonsense in their mouths.”
The scene featured a Hasidic Jewish basketball player that needed a bone graft from a deceased donor. The father of the basketball player –outraged– says, “A goyim leg. From anyone. An Arab, a woman?”
*Goyim is Yiddish for a gentile.*
At what point do we sit back and say: “NBC has an antisemitic problem”?
The ignorance alone needs to get someone fired. Forget about the bigotry for a second and think about it from a purely logical standpoint. Are you telling me that the writers on this show didn’t know a single Jewish person in Hollywood who they could contact and have them verify that their portrayal of this historically marginalized group was even ACCURATE?

This is ignorance on a very high level. It’s the idea that I can’t say that “election fraud is real” or that “hydroxychloroquine works” because if I do, I’m labeled a nutter. But, this antisemitic portrayal was allowed to be written down; make it through multiple rounds of edits and re-shoot; make it passed all the checks and balances – without repercussions.
Twitter won’t be taking these writers or actors down for writing racist jokes drinking $12 coffees and patting themselves on the back for how brave they are for standing up to Israel.
These same people have – with a serious face – said that Trump was doing the same to immigrants at the border as Hitler did to the millions of Jewish people he murdered. This is how negative stereotypes are created and allowed to take root in our society.
While most are smart enough to see this for what it is – blatant antisemitism – many will glaze over it, accepting it as an accurate portrayal of Jewish law. I doubt NBC would do the scene if the character had been Muslim or a liberal forced to take a MAGA leg.

This wasn’t an accident or a misrepresentation of the faith due to negligence. They made a choice to make it look as if a Jewish man’s worse nightmare would be to have his life saved by an Arab woman.
Hollywood is responsible for shaping the views of Americans for generations. We’ve allowed the rot to continue by always supporting the next movie or show. Always hungry for more content.
Our society is at a crossroads. We’ve come to the point that we can no longer care more about the newest release than we do about what our kids are learning in their classroom. We can no longer allow the bigots that run Hollywood the freedom to portray us as something we aren’t. Bring culture back. Bring grace and civility back. It’s time to turn back to the classics.
