Reminiscing about his early days, Seacrest mentioned, “Many people may not know this, but one of my earliest jobs was hosting a small game show called ‘Click for Merv Griffin’ 25 years ago. Seacrest will join Vanna White, the show’s co-host, on stage. The New York Times reported that White is contracted for another year and likely to continue on the show.
Besides hosting “American Idol,” Seacrest’s portfolio includes “Live with Kelly and Ryan” and ABC’s “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”
The New York Times speculates Sony’s prompt appointment of Seacrest might reflect their challenges in replacing the late Alex Trebek on “Jeopardy.”
