The latest round of COVID-19 lockdowns in a number of Democrat-led states has already fueled massive pushback in the most unexpected places, including many California cities where people on both sides of the political aisle are sick and tired of the economy-killing, draconian pandemic restrictions announced by Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Literally millions of Americans are struggling, jobless, or on the verge of losing their small businesses in which they poured in a lifetime of blood, sweat and life savings to maintain.
According to Breitbart, there’s a good chance that the people in California who are already ticked off are about to become a lot more angry, as Newsom actually had the audacity to exempt Hollywood celebrities and the film and tv industry from his asinine COVID-19 pandemic lockdown rules.

Why would he make such an exemption? Because apparently, Hollywood elitists are “essential.”
I’d like to see him explain how a millionaire celebrity or film company is more essential than a health gym, a hair salon or a number of the other businesses that are continually penalized under the ridiculous pandemic restrictions.

Included in Newsom’s new pandemic lockdown are rules that bar people who aren’t “essential” from being out between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. That rule is in effect until December 21, nearly a month away.
However, we have to look at the bright side of this, as there is at least some good that comes out of this bizarre situation.

While most Americans in any other state than California would agree that the film and television industries are most certainly not “essential,” behind the scenes, so to speak, are thousands of blue-collar workers who contribute to all facets of production, like lighting, hospitality, and various crews who truly are the backbone of the industry.
At the very least, Newsom’s exemption will keep those jobs alive, which also means that a number of critical ancillary businesses — like hotels and restaurants — will benefit from those workers being able to continue doing their jobs and using their services, thus keeping even more people employed in these extremely trying times.
The exemption this time around is in complete contrast to the first round of lockdowns earlier this year, when the entertainment industry — including the hard-working men and women behind it — were completely shut down. That was fine for millionaire celebrities who never have to work again, but for all of the others behind the scenes, it was a crushing blow.
Don’t get me wrong — I’m not lost on the fact that exempting Hollywood from lockdowns doesn’t seem fair on the surface and for many reasons, it’s not. But knowing that tens of thousands of blue-collar, working Americans will still be able to feed their families and keep the lights on is definitely a huge win.
