For President Donald Trump, winning Wisconsin in 2016 was not only somewhat unexpected, but also a huge bonus for his path to garnering 270 electoral votes. It was clear at the time that residents of the state believe in what the president could do for them.
Fast-forward to 2020, by most predictions, Trump was expected to hold the state, given the economic prosperity it has experienced under his administration, to include job growth and a number of other positive metrics.
Instead, several bizarre — and in some cases unexplainable — things seemed to have happened in The Badger State that has a number of political analysts and conservative pundits scratching their heads, especially concerning what appears to be an earth-shattering voter turnout record.

According to Breitbart, with 98 percent of precincts in the state reporting results, it appears on paper that out of the 3,684,726 registered voters in the state, an absolutely unheard-of 89 percent of those people voted, as the state has recorded 3,297,137 votes — with a little more to come.
In other words, nine out of 10 eligible voters cast a vote in the 2020 election. That number blows every record out of the water, as the last time there was a number anywhere within striking range was in 2004, when 73.24 percent in the state voted. Other elections were far under that.

Kimberly Strassel of The Wall Street Journal posted a lengthy discussion on Twitter in which she ran the numbers and called into question whether or not it was possible that the state saw a near 90 percent voter turnout — a number that would eclipse any other state’s turnout in modern voting history.
1) I am legitimately interested/confused by this. I checked, and the top number is indeed Wisconsin’s active registered voter number as of Nov. 1. The bottom is approx. what has been counted. That is a (not feasible) 89% turnout. https://t.co/Meb8B9IH0f

Obviously being professional and polite, Strassel called the turnout — if it’s authentic — “extraordinary.”
8) I think high voter turnout is great, and if WI truly did this, wow. I only question it because it is so strikingly at odds with any other state.

John Hinderaker of PowerLine wrote penned an informative piece on the subject of Wisconsin’s record-shattering voter turnout. He clearly wasn’t convinced that the state could produce such numbers, especially numbers related the amount of votes that Biden received in comparison to Trump, who carried the state only four years ago.

“Take Wisconsin: four years ago, Trump carried the state with 1,405,284 votes. This year, with 99% of the vote tabulated, Trump had 1,610,007 votes, more than 200,000 more votes than he received four years ago. Yet, we are told, he lost the state to the inept Joe Biden,” Hinderaker wrote, while calling the outcome “unlikely.”
He went on to point out other irregularities, like how in seven Democratic wards, more votes were registered than there are registered voters. He also touched on how many of these Biden votes are suddenly turning up in the middle of the night.
On Wednesday, due to the razor thin margin that Biden is winning in the state — and presumably due to the number of irregularities — the Trump campaign announced that they were demanding a recount. That means while Biden holds the state currently, that very well could change, although it could take some time as a recount will only begin once the state certifies the votes on December 1.
The bottom line? This race ain’t over yet.
